What about the idea of Lex Hilliard taking Ronnie Brown's place as the triggerman in the wildcat formation??
-just thorowing it out htere

I actually read that Hilliard had taken some snaps in practice. That way we can keep Ricky in the same spot.

We all knew this was happening.. Now IMO, I saw Hilliard in preseason against the panthers and he looked fast, and he doesn't dance around, whenever the ball is in his hands he drives very quickly to the hole... If he doesn't gain a lot of yards, he never losses any.

I don't like it, it's not just a matter of taking the snap and running. It involves reading the defense and making a very quick decision on handing it off to the sweeping runner or keeping it while at the same time finding a hole. I like Lex but he's not ready for that big of a role.

The holes tend to be a lot bigger in the 4th quarter of a preseason game so I'm not jumping up and down just yet at Lex being out there. I hope he's great obviously but we have no idea what we have with this guy yet.

He's never had a carry in a real game and you want him to run the wildcat?

I wasn't saying that "I want" him to run the wildcat- i was just saying that its an idea that would keep ricky in his role.... but that being said- if cannot handle it, then im not for it.

*But lets all remember- when Ronnie Brown first handled the wildcat in practice, the coaches said they were really nervous about it- but look how that turned out..... I just think it might be worth a try.

We've done very well in the past year running so many plays with a RB taking snaps, handing off, even throwing -- without any disasters. I don't think we should push our luck on it, assuming we can continue getting away with that kind of stuff using just anyone.
