What do you think of the Front Office's moves so far?

We got better on defense? Where have I been?

We added one fast (not necessarily good) player, and ignored need for speedd at WR and TE.

We added depth at tackle when we needed 2 starting guards...

Plax may not have played in 2 years, but I'll take him over Hartline 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

D-

I dont know where you have been but.....

Burnett>> Crowder thats not even a comparison

Reggie Bush and Edmond (clyde) Gates are one of the fastest players in the NFL ( we improved on deep threat and speed at the rb)

Jason Taylor will be a improvement then any of our back up OLB's in pass rushing situations.

Fields is also a better back up NT then baker

our defense also will be year 2 under mike nolan scheme will be exciting to see.

Liked the Bush pickup until I found he was going to be the feature back. After that....
No QB
No TE
No Luxury WR
Improved slightly with LB, but resigned the dancing douche
Added another Dallas O-lineman

I don't know, you tell me how FA is going. Happy time???

reggie bush >> mark ingram in a run first offense. Saints are not a run first offense.

Reggie Bush is not greater than Mark Ingram in any situation for any reason. And yes, I'm throwing the return game in there, even though Ingram doesn't do it.

IMO, it is apparent that Ireland is way, way too comfortable with his job security and he could care less about Sparano's future. And Ross, of course, is just plain clueless.

Simply Put

"PITIFUL". We should have done far more to rectify the QB situation and with all due respect to Matt Moore, he is not the answer to our QB problems. Our main problem in that area actually isn't Henne either, it is the Front Office. We signed how many to date and how many old guys or almost washed up guys did we sign in there?

Come on get with it FO, make either the Orton thing happen or go above and beyond and get Carson Palmer. There isn't much else we can do at this time, unless everyone is happy with just riding out this season???? Which we will do with our backfield situation.

Sad to say for the Fins front office, but I bet there is enough knowledge and sense in this forum that would be able to put together a playoff team faster then what the front office has done over the years. There should be some risks that should be taken rather then being so conservative. Ireland and company are playing it too safe. Why not pick up Braylon E? Why didn't they go for Buress?

Sorry Phin nation... get ready for another under achievement, weak season.

For all the moaning and groaning on here, I'm gonna tip my hat to our FO. They saw we needed a "alpha WR" they went out and got B-19. They saw we needed speed on offense, they drafted Gates, and signed Bush. They brought in play-makers on defense like Dansby and Burnett. Yes they have made mistakes, but nothing is guaranteed in the NFL. Our front office sees our needs just like we do and they try to do something about it. We could be stuck with a owner that just doesn't care and a FO of Spielman and Whanny..... I thank them very much for this!!!

The record says they are no better thus far...

I notice of all the uglies, nobody really offered much up that they would have done different. Mallett and Ingram seem to be the issues for most.

I think the negativity will persist regardless of what happens even if we go to playoffs cus as soon as we lose it will be we still suck. so whatever.....no sense in trying to see any improvements when your hell bent on getting rid of not only the management, but the owner. okie dokie then...

Even if this FO actually believes in Henne, not getting another weapon for him is criminal.

Taking a chance on a RB that never carried the load, without a tested backup is just stupid.

That's the depressing thing, we expect this crap.

Shows silliness, really.

WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING FOR SURE about our Draft Picks. What if OUR POUNCEY is as good as PITTSBURGH's? What if D THOMAS iturns out to be one of, if not THE, best HBs of this year's class? What if GATES, who reportedly runs very good pass patterns and has excellent hands, blows the top off of deep zones and stretches the field for us for the next 12 yeras? And what if our new TE owns the "seams" and just about all S's in the NFL for the next 12 years as well?

What if BURNETT is the perfect compliment to DANSBY, and is so huge an upgrade over CROWDER that we laymen can't even imagine it? And what if R BUSH does well/stays healthy playing on grass instead of a "rug", and also can in fact handle 20 or so touches/game? Lastly, what if HENNE emerges, in an offensive "system" that is suited to HIS arm strength, rather than PENNINGTON's, and w/o the twin "Albatroses" named PARCELLS and HENNING hanging around his freakin' neck?

All of the above are at least possible. I/m/o, many of them will happen...and I would NOT be at all surprised if HENNE is one of them. One thing IS for sure: it'll be a lot more fun to watch what DABOLL comes up with, rather than PARCELLS and HENNING's "3 Yards and a cloud of dust" cloned onto PENNY's "dink-and-dunk" cha cha cha.

Sitting here watching the Eagles, Jets, and Patriots and the way their front offices are aggressive and make bold moves makes me frustrated to be a Dolphins fan. While the Eagles are busy making moves this offseason that should leap their defense easily into the top 10 this year, what has Ireland done to improve our offense so far?

Reggie Bush could be a nice addition, he could also miss a significant portion of the season (like all his others) if an opposing defensive player even farts on him. Personally, I would've liked to see the team go after Darren Sproles without giving up any compensation for him.

Our Quarterback situation is depressing as hell. Henne has shown us all that he has, believe me, he simply hasn't got it. And the best we can hope for is that we may still get Orton, a mediocre QB who went 4-12 last year. Although he might be a slight upgrade, the most important position on the team and the potential future there doesn't leave one with much reason to be optimistic other then the fact that if it's Henne, he will no doubt play poorly again and get Sparano and possibly Ireland fired with any luck.

At least I hear we just signed another washed up Cowboy lineman who played poorly last year. That should get us over the hump!

Am I being to pessimistic? What do you think?

I think this is entirely BS. I think the FO has done an excellent job evaluating what they have and what they have available to them considering their resources. As evidenced by them restructuring various players contracts and seeing what they have, they have made whatever moves they can to cover their holes, QB notwithstanding, but I cannot lay blame with them directly for the QB issue. They tried to get Orton even though some ******** on here don't want him and I don't want them to mortgage the team for band-aids at best. Then you have other ******** fans that chant "We want Orton" at Monday's practice, demonstrating their class and enjoyment of fan appreciation night. They should not have attended. What a slap in the face to the Miami Dolphins.

Sidebar: Imagine the entire Dolphins team gathering over on the sidelines next to that group of ******* fans, and the team starts chanting "We want new fans, we want new fans!" I would bust a friggin gut laughing so hard.

Back to business. I think this FO is the most competent we have had since Don Shula left, but there will be those of you out there who will always complain about them, no matter who holds the position.

And those of you who are ultra-critical and negative on everything the team does no matter what, well no one said you had to be a Dolphin fan. There aren't too many of you, but those that are there post an extraordinary number of negative posts to make it look like all of Dol-Fan nation is against them.

Yes we have problems. News Flash: Every team has problems! Are we competitive? Damn right. Do we have enough win-ability and speed to compete in this division? Damn right we do. There is something called the power of focus of the collective consciousness - which means (in this context) if we all focus on the team improvement and winning, the right energy will accumulate behind this team and it will happen. If we dilute the focus with negativity and contentiousness, the energy dies. And your hopes of a winning season with it. Choose your damn option!

Shallow!

The "dancing douche", in very limited playing time, had 5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. MISI had less of each playing "full time". MISI last season was a "one trick pony" on the pass rush, and easily negated by anyone good. SO, my friend, WHO BETTER to educate MISI, and help him evolve and realize his potential, than the "dancing douche", who has every move in the freakin'"book"?

TE could become a strength if C CLAY can provide the "pass catching TE" compliment to FASANO. We've seen it before.

We HAVE a luxury WR. His name is MARSHALL. We also have an excellent "slot" WR: if WELKER's the best in the League, BESS is second. We also have a "possessionWR" w/enough speed to get deep, in HARTLINE. And we also have a number of "big and fast" WRs w/potential: all we need is for one to emerge. And we have GATES, who's a legit "burner", runs surprisingly good patterns, and has great hands. He may well be all MIAMI needs to punish what teams were doing to MARSHALL last season, as wewll as "8-In-The-Box".

Improved "slightly" at LB? "SLIGHTLY"????? We replaced CROWDER w/BURNETT, who can actually pass-cover and blitz. EDDS is returning as well.

As to QB, I'd like to see what HENNE can do in a "system" designed for HIS skills and NOT PENNINGTON's, and w/o the ALBATROSS of PARCELLS-HENNING hanging around his neck. A healthy OLine might be nice, too. As a footnote: DON'T underestimate MOORE. Look at some of his game footage, his "highlights", etc., and DO NOT judge him by the p/o/s team he played for last season. I/m/o, MIAMI doesn't need ORTON, who chokes under pressure, and has a record of performance in the 4th Quarter so bad that it'll rival the 4th Quarter "stats" of the worst QBs.
