Feely or Mare??? Who's Better?

Will we get more production out of Jay Feely then we got out of Orlendo Mare?? Like making game winning kicks in overtime or with 3 secs left in the forth we could have won at least 10-12 more games over the past 2-3 years if only we had a kicker who could make a clutch kick when we need it most i know he's no adam V but damn come on. MayI add the kicks were not all that long between 40 & 50yrds if I'm not mistaken (if I am I know someone will correct me)the longest kick of his career was about 55 yards.

thoughts anyone?????????
 
You may want to change your poll. How do i answer yes or no to that question?
 
I would hope since we got rid of Mare that Feely would produce well for the fins
 
I think the switch was well worth it. Mare is not a great field goal kicker like he once was, but he still has an amazing leg on kickoffs. Feely is much more consistant on field goals, has experience in cold weather, but is slighlty less powerful on kick offs. Lets not forget they will gave up Mare for Feely and Drew Mormino.
 
I liked Mare. We're going to miss that leg on the kick-offs.
It took the opponents special-teams away more often than not.

I hope Feeley comes through for us.

thats what i was thinking but Mare's field goal % has been going down evry year for the past 3 years, i still say he's one of the better kickiers in the league but for his salery those 30 to 40 yarders have to be automatic... that said he is the best kickoff kicker in the league but kickers get paid for field goals not kickoffs...

54 against Denver in 1999...And I agree, I think Feely is the better choice at this point. Mare has been on a steady decline for the past 2 to 3 seasons and was no longer clutch anymore...Another thing is that he will probably do much better in N.O. and may even get back to his normal self for a coupple seasons just because of the dome situation there, (And truthfully, when Mare is back to kicking 80% because of the dome how many threads do we think will arise calling RamCam busts for letting him go)but it will be no reflection on the trade because you cannot compare Mare in Miami and Mare in N.O...But truth be told that if he does do great in N.O. chances are he would not be doing good at all in Miami...Really the only thing that should be missed are the touchbacks
 
Feely = Mare

Simple as that...no better no worse...not even cheaper than Mare was...
 
Mare's 54 yarder against Denver was in 2001, not 1999 just to let you know. But I think it was time for a change at kicker and I'm happy with Feely. I think he will make those kicks your suppose to. I was getting sick of screaming at my TV screen when Mare would miss 32 yard FG's.
 
Mare looked like he was loosing his confidence more and more in his skills the last few seasons. That's the biggest part of the PK's game is confidence.

I'm not sure about Feeley but for him to come back after that dismal play off game where he missed three FGs (which lost that game for them), I believe, and to get back at the top of his game, I think that's a plus for him.
 
Another thing you guys over look is Mare's ability to kick onside kicks, the guy was simply amazing at that, that, plus his ability to make other team's ST's mute was a real plus for us. This year our kickoff teams and our onside teams will have to play honest football.
