What does a second rounder represent, compared to 7.5 million?

I have been thinking of it and a second rounder represents ONE starter, while the difference in salaries between Pepper and Brees represents 7.5 million, with that insane amount of money we can sign at least 3 starters, plus the pick means 1 player once and the money saving will go on for 6 years, which is what I think Pepper has left on the tank. I did liked the idea of getting Brees for nothing, but I never thought the money difference would be so steep, so thinking of it, I do like giving up a second rather than paying someone such an outgrageous amount of money.

That is extremely hypothetical, no-one knows whether what we pick in the 2nd round is going to work out, and it is in 2007 and with Culpepper I am guessing it will be a late 2nd so I am even happier.

I don't exactly know the cap numbers yet so i'll hold my tongue until I do.

Uhm, Surtain was traded for ONE second rounder, and that was used last year on Matt Roth. We have no seocnd rounder in 2006 now.
