QUARTERBACK RYAN TANNEHILL PLAYS ALL 16 GAMES, AND PLAYS WELL IN A VAST MAJORITY OF THEM
. . .

Now, with a year of consistency in the offensive staff, Tannehill is faced with getting over the mental hurdle of facing live bullets in the pocket and not letting that pressure get into his psyche. If Tannehill stays healthy this year and can capture his effectiveness as a passer that he showed during the final eight games he played last year, it will be a massive win for the Dolphins, who are hoping Tannehill proves them right for investing in him long term.

THE THREE YOUNG DEFENDERS BROUGHT IN THIS YEAR THROUGH THE DRAFT ARE POSITIVE CONTRIBUTORS ON THE FIELD

. . .

Harris, for example, likely isn’t ready to be an every down player. But calling on Harris to be a disruptive pass rusher, even as a rookie, has to be in Miami’s hopes. McMillan will have the chance to anchor the second level along with incumbent Kiko Alonso and fellow newcomer Lawrence Timmons. McMillan’s physical presence has been unmatched by Dolphins linebackers for years; he likely holds the best odds to be an every down rookie starter.

THE OFFENSIVE LINE FINALLY GELS AFTER YEARS OF TRANSITION

. . .

Pouncey’s continued health issues will be a huge wild card this season. But regardless of Pouncey’s playing time, both guard positions need to be solidified. 2016 left guard Laremy Tunsil will slide to tackle this year. That leaves the left guard spot up for grabs between two out of position college centers (Anthony Steen and Ted Larsen) and a fifth round rookie, Issac Asiata. The right guard position lies in the hands of Jermon Bushrod, who nearly retired this offseason.

Win a playoff game for the first time in over 15 years. That's it. That's the one step forward that is necessary.

I know there are some who will say that you can't have a successful season without a championship, but that's what I want to see. A playoff win.

Yep. Take the next step and get a win in the postseason.

That's also in the article.

Let's not beat our selves! If we are in every game and a better team beats us, then a better team beat us. Don't give the game away to your opponent.

Agreed Wanny. Playoff win this season. A tougher schedule this year but the Dolphins are a more talented team than a year ago.

Successful?! Winning a Super Bowl.

Wining 11 games is a successful season.
Making the playoffs for the second season in a row is an even more successful season.
Wining one or more playoff games is a level of success that I think we are in a position to achieve this season.
Getting to the Superbowl will be an unexpected success.
Winning the Superbowl, now that would put this organization and especially coach Gase in my heart forever!

I would say a playoff win but we will be on road again. Definitely AFC title game the following year would be a successful SEASON

Playoffs again show the baseline of successful for any team. This squad can do that. A win in the playoffs would be a very encouraging step though.

Gase is at least an honorable mention for coach of the year. If that happens we know for sure we got a good and hopefully long term coach and we know he wasn't a one year wonder. It also means Tanni progressed, the Oline progressed and we had some improvements on D.
