Smith would be stupid not to go to SF. His special teams killed his chances at a Superbowl. He has the cards now and should do it. Moss and Manningham are there and are way better than what they had. Also have Vernon Davis and Gore. What do we have? Id take less to play in SF at this point.

The 49ers still have a second round quarterback they drafted last year soooo.. we'll see what they decide to do. I can imagine the Browns being interested in Alex Smith though. Holmgren is a quarterback coach, he too can turn Alex Smith's career around. He made Matt Hasselback look decent.

Still, when you were a play or two away from making the Superbowl WITH Smith, the 49ers have to be a little worried, and acting with some urgency in trying to resign him.
