I want to know what it will take for this team to turn things around and turn a seemingly dreadful season into an acceptable outcome. Beyond that, what will it take to get that first W and a few others to follow it?

We've already discussed the poor play from the secondary and linebacking core, when it comes to pass defense. The offense has done well until it reaches the redzone and our turnovers have been costly. That sums up the gloom and doom that Miami has experienced in their 0-3 start.

Looking forward, what do you guys think can be a short-term solution to these problems that can position the Fins for a better outlook towards 2010?

Should we just tank the season and get that Top 10 pick?

Should we fight it out to see who really is worth keeping and whose expendable?

It's time for the fans to voice our opinions on what it will take to salvage this season. Sound off.

It's going to take these next two wins over Buffalo and the Jets. 2-3 going into the bye with a 2-0 division record.

Make it happen Miami.

IMO this team is closer than it looks....our running game is top notch, our run D is right there as well....we have been torched by TE's and last week by recievers....

I think we need to stop rolling safety help to Smith just bc he is a rookie. Let him play on an island until he proves he can't do it alone.

Until last week, Te's wernt really killing us except for the missed tackles. WE HAVE TO TACKLE!!!!

The offense has the running game clicking, it was the chunk yardage we couldn't get. I'm hoping Henne can take advantage of the dominant run game and PA the hell out of a defense.

Ginn needs to relocate his hands and we need to figure out how to get the line blocking without using Fasano to help so much. He and bess will be hennes best targets if nothing is availible outside the hashmarks.

I think we're awfully close, it's the missed tackles and blown coverage and key points that are killing us.

I think the secondary has been steadily improving with each week. Yes, they gave up a few big passes against SD. But they were right there on the coverage and just didn't make the play. Top 5 rush defense and top 5 rushing offense in the league. All they need to do is just tune up a couple things with the LB's coverage and the passing game. Now that we have Henne in there, I think we can expect to see a systematic disengage from this dink and dunk passing. It's not going to happen right away, but it will happen. Even at 0-3, I'm confident in this teams ability to win games. Now they just need to get these two division games against Buffalo and New York and go into the bye and use the week off to really get Henne acclimated to the offense.

We need to focus on one game at a time. Our players must simply execute their assignments on each and every play.

No more goddamn breakdowns!

I'm not sure the FO is looking at wins. It appears their looking at where were at in rebuilding. Yes TS promotes winning, but he also wants to develop the team so 2008 is not a mirage, but a continuing event.

Don't be surprised if you see a lot of the young players getting experience for the future. This is Henne's year to learn, might as well use it for the whole team to learn.

I've felt all along any where from 7-9 to 9-7 was a realistic outcome for this year. That means we more likely miss the playoffs. Once were out of playoff contention bench the players that won't be here next year and start the young ones. That puts us one year ahead.

However, if we turn it around, play a mixture of the veterans and youth. We must not impede the growth of our young players.

Right now a win vs Buffalo is all that matters. I'd suggest cutting Wilson, I don't care what kind of a cap hit it is his value is a negative number. Get some of the younger DBs in there.

Can we get a do over? LOL

Reality has set in, we were enamored with last season, but Miami took advantage of last season by playing a soft schedule and not making mistakes. This year they are playing a tougher schedule and making mistakes. My heart hoped for a 11-5 season again, but my head was telling me it would be closer to 8-8.

I would like to see Miami continue to dominate in the running game, but would like to see a more effective passing game. I don't want to take anything away from Penny, because what he lead this team to do last year was a good thing, but we all know he was limited physically. I think Henne's arm can open the offense up a little more, but without a WR that can step up it will still be hampered. I actually look for Hartline to take a big step forward with Henne in.

I think Henne will be the QB of the present and future for Miami, but that will have to be proven on the field, and I hope he shows that over the course of the season.

On the defensive side of the ball I would like to see more playing time for some of the younger players. I can't believe Clemons or J Allen would look and worse than Wilson or Bell out there right now, and I would like to see Davis get more PT, but maybe splitting time with W. Allen, because I think S Smith is the real deal. The biggest thing I want to see from the defense is to stop giving up the big plays.

I am not really concerned about record at this point the rest of the season, but I just want to see that the moves that have been made are setting Miami up for runs in 2010 and beyond.

What does it take?

Exactly, that is what I was going to write, we win the next two games, we are again in the thick of things...will not be easy to make an about face after an 0-3 start, but also not exactly something that has not been done before.

Looking at things....I expect the Ravens to beat the pats, the Saints to beat the Jets and the fins to beat the Bills....

Jets 3-1
Pats 2-2
Miami 1-3
Buffalo 1-3....

If things shake out this way, it makes the jets game a MUST win and we are right back in this thing.

I like those odds.

Thanks for all the responses.

To cover a few generally similar responses, I would have to agree that Miami has a chance at beating Buffalo, but looking beyond that is not something we should be doing right now. What matters at this moment is Sunday afternoon at Land Shark Stadium. Last week put us in a very deep hole for the rest of the season, but a loss on Sunday will be the final straw that broke the camel's back.

It's about the W this week, not next week.

As for some of the roster changes, there is definitely some need to shift players around. I mean it worked for the special teams in week three. Why not use that same approach to other units, like the secondary and LB cores? If you aren't performing you aren't playing. Period. That should be the coaching staff's collective mindset.

It's just a bit awkward how the Dolphins are ranked at the top of the league in rushing and run defense, yet we are 0-3 and seem to have so many more problems than solutions.

If there's any moment to rebound and recapture this season, it's this weekend.

Trent Edwards is the least effective of the QBs Miami has faced thus far. And even with T.O. and Lee Evans, this is the Fins' best chance to win.

Just don't let us down now Miami...(with my luck, I may have just jinxed it).
