What does Philbin bring to the table????

Horrible head coach. Fire. Him. /end thread

The shiniest baldest head among head coaches in the league. That's pretty much it.

Snickers.

Philbin should be hanging out with Marv Levy and the '90s Bills in that room where they were going to eat snickers until they figured out how to win a Superbowl. Philbin's task would be to figure out how to get his team to start games better/faster and also how to win more than 8 games.

While he's doing that Ross should just go get Harbaugh or some other coach who won't take more than 2 1/2 years to get their team to actually play well for a full 60 minutes.

You go back to when they were looking for a HC…the names on the table…Mike McCoy, Todd Bowles, Mike Zimmer…what a miss. I said it then and say it now.

Joe did nothing in GB to show he was ready for such a gig. Tom Clements was more qualified on that staff.

Another tidbit from that article:

on game days, Philbin would serve as McCarthy’s “eyes and ears in the sky.” Philbin, seated in the coaches’ booth, was usually in charge of letting McCarthy know whether he should throw the red challenge flag. Philbin also would review overhead photos of plays to relay information about the opposing defense to coaches on the field.

It all makes sense now! Joe Philbin: Red Challenge Flag Expert

Eh, not sure any of those guys would have done much better here honestly. This team is a mess from the top down - a lot of dysfunction.

Perhaps McCoy would have worked best because he is adaptable and genuinely a QB guru. He also wouldn't have gutted the team to build a whole new offensive system, he would have adapted his system to the talent on the team. But I really don't know he would be seeing as much success here as he is in SD

All the guy does is outsmart himself at every turn. He's so scared of making a mistake that he gets nutlock and loses the freaking game. That was our game, bottom line. With a real Coach on our sideline that's Dolphin victory. The guy is gutless and I also ask, what the hell does he do good? He's awful with his emotionless wooden cliches:we had an excellent week of preparation, have to look at the tape, they made more plays and derserved to win blah, blah blah. We need a dynamic leader of men not this android who manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

From what i've seen with my own eyes, in the the 2 1/2 years he's been the HC, Joe Philbin brings absolutely nothing to our Dolphins.

I dunno but he's a dead ringer for Uncle Fester come Halloween.
