What does the 2.5 mean???

That number next to the Bears is actually -2.5. That is the point spread on the game. It means the Bears are favored to win the game by 2.5 points. This is primarily for gambling purposes.

Actually preseason games have certain advantages to regular season games. Starters may go against 2nd stringers, there tends to be a hiogher disparity in talent level when you get to the 2nd and 3rd string rosters. You may know that one team wants to win the game to instill a winning attitude whereas the other just wants to play its 2nd and 3rd stringers to gauge how they're coming along.

As to why the line moved it means a ton of money came in on the Bears side
 
I don't bet on Football because I tend to follow my heart more than my mind but if I did I would load up on Miami in this game. Just get a feeling Nick wants to start things out with a win and the Dolphins will be fired up because of Marino and there are tons of Dolphin fans in Canton.

actually it means the dolphins are favored by 2.5 and earlier this week it was 1.5 since so many people are betting miami they raised it to tease people into taking chicago not to mention there is a really good chance we will kill them because our qb will play longer and rickey is going up against there 2-3 players.

Actually it is the Bears who are favored and the line is 3 with some casinos
