What Dolphin players excited you in college, then ended up being a major fail?

Cecil Collins

larry Shannon was another one but more so based on his metrics

Ah yes, Cecil the Diesel. From that same era and maybe that same draft, Rob Konrad had me interested. This was before I would watch any tape and just go on what the media told me but he was expected by some to be a Mike Alstott or Darryl Johnson type of FB. Turns out he was too often hurt and I found that he just wasn't flexible enough in the hips to catch a pass out of the backfield and turn up field.

Before that I was very excited about Yatil Green for Marino to finally have a good down field threat again. Alas...the knee.

Tony Bua, Wannsdedt moved him from safety to lb - should have been our John Lynch

Sammie Smith (RB) - At the time he looked like the prototypic combo of speed/power and would help Marino reach another Super Bowl.

Brady Quinn (QB) - Thought he was the next Drew Brees coming out of college. Guess it was a good thing we passed.

Yatil Green (WR) - Thought he was a bit overrated coming out of college but never expected things to go as badly as they did.

I called Rob Konrad "Csonka II" for the first couple of seasons he spent in Miami. Not after that.

The 2 players I hated NOT getting the most were Drew Brees and Alex Smith. Makes sense now.

I did not care much for the individual who broke our hearts this afternoon. I expected him to be in the Brady Quinn category.
