With it becoming more and more apparent that Ronnie Brown does not have the heart to battle Ricky Williams for a starting postition in the backfield, I'm wondering what people would be happy getting in return for his rights.

I'd personally be more happy getting a 7th round pick for him now than seeing him suck the Dolphins cap room dry only to ride the bench.

However, I believe that there are enough desperate teams out there that someone would part with a 3rd round pick or so to take him off our hands.

Whats everyone else think?

How does he not have the "heart" to battle Ricky for the starting spot? And why would we trade the 2nd overall pick for a 3rd round pick?

I'm confused. are you talking about trading Ricky for a 3rd round pick or Ronnie?

Why would anyone trade Ricky? He's an accomplished player that wants to be here. Get rid of the dead weight that's only concerned for himself and wants every dime of guaranteed money possible since he's not confident in his skills.

He's just trying to get the most money he can. Don't tell me you wouldn't do the same thing if you were him.

He's not willing to work for any of his money and wants everything guaranteed. Overall, I'd rather take a 3rd round pick than grossly overpay for him to join the team or see him sit out of the league all season.

Trading Ronnie for a 3rd? Ricky ia an a accomplished player? Something about a 7th rounder.....

This thread confuses the hell out of me

If I was confident in my abilities to star in the NFL, I'd be more concerned about long term income potential.....not the guaranteed money upfront. By missing all this time in the preseason, he's costing himself bigtime. The first four games were his to start....but I don't think thats the case anymore. We need someone who knows our playbook, is comfortable with the other players on the field and is in tip-top shape. Ronnie will not be that way with only two weeks or so of camp. Now, he'll be relegated to being a 2nd or 3rd string back all season and may never grow out of that role at any point during his career.

I hope you're joking and just trying to get people going. He doesn't have the heart because his contract isn't done yet? That's a new one. How in the world could you even suggest it would be worth it to let him go for a 7th round pick? Unbelievable.
