Wasnt this guy somewhat an early pick? I never heard about him at all during the season, whats the deal with this guy!?:D

Too small and inconsistent in practice. he is considered a project that needs to bulk up and get stronger to be helpful to the team in the near future.

Considering all the problems we had this season on the O-Line, it really does'nt bode well that he never seen the field once.

Will have to make huge strides in the off-season if he wants a place in Miami next season.

he was drafted as a prospect the Trifecta knew that He won't help us much this season. Must be something really special at that guy, cous normally if you don't perform you're gone. He is one of my "spotlight" players for the offseason, I'm really looking forward to see how/if he progresses.

I do agree it did not bode well that he did not play with all the injuries. donald Thomas was supposed to be a bigger project and won the starting job.

Murphy was considered by some to be "Maser's pick" a la Hudson Houck with Joe Toledo. Mike Maser's gone now - I think Murphy might soon follow.

Murphy was a much better pick than Toledo. Toledo had only played one year of T and was hurt every year. You could be correct though about whose choice it was. I hope we give him a chance , we have nothing to lose.

Hahaha anyone that tries to defend Murphy as being a "project" pick is ridiculous. There is no excuse for him to never even dress for a game all season with all our problems are guard.

The reality is this - he's a fourth-rounder that COMPLETELY failed to impress the team as a rookie. He was kept this season because, as a fourth-rounder, the team will give him one more camp for him to prove himself. But as it stands, he's pretty much a goner. Mark my words.

You're onto something there... 4th is a little too high to be taking a 'project' pick... I think we actually moved UP to select him as well...

Considering we took Donald Thomas in the 6th and how that panned out, I think any noise of this supposed 'project' selection is only trying to cover what looks at this point to be a gaffe in taking Murphy.

I hope I am wrong.

I disagree with this, with the way this team plucked guys from UDFA and practice squads . . . a 4th round pick would get cut for the better of the team. Hell Quentin Moses was a 3rd round pick and got axed his first season . . . it happens frequently now. With Donald Thomas developing early, they had every reason to cut Murphy. I actually think they see something with the kid and they are giving him the opportunity to fulfill his potential.

But if he doesn't do anything this camp, he is gone.

I read somewhere in the Herald last week or so that Murphy was considered a project because he was very raw and Murphy said that he has "a long way to go" with his pass-blocking.. However as someone wrote earlier Thomas was the even bigger project and he got the starting job.. I hope Thomas will be as good as he was last year before his injury..

Prove it.
