With all this CFL talk it got me thinking about Casey Printers. A couple of months ago Miami and a couple of other teams were interested in him. then all of a sudden nothing. does anyone know what is going on with him?

Signed with KC.

I even googled his name and i missed that. thanks.

so Casey is now in K.C. huh. fitting i suppose.

He’s with KC, but I think he went too soon. He’s still pretty raw and that could leave him stuck on the bench. The QBs who’ve gone from the CFL to the NFL and had the most success were the ones who’d had two or three very good seasons under their belt and had become seasoned veteran QBs. The three biggest names are would of course be Warren Moon, Jeff Garcia and Doug Flutie.

Joe Theisman played in the CFL also.

We're looking for QB examples, not lousy broadcaster examples. ;)

Funny enough I have a program from the 1972 Labour Day game between Hamilton and Toronto and in it is an article about a rookie quarterback who the Argos signed - this rookie Joe Theismann, the reason he came to the CFL? The Argonauts were offering more money that the Dolphins. Man how times have changed in respect to the money to be made between the CFL and the NFL!
I think this deal is great for Canadian football and will, at the very least, open our league up to a lot of viewers that have never seen the CFL. I just can't wait to see how some of you guys react to 12 men on the field, unlimited motion in the back field and no fair catch. It will take some getting used to but believe me I think you will enjoy the CFL and please don't take this as a knock on the NFL - I love the NFL as well - but they are different games and both can be enjoyed without the comparisons of one being better than the other.

Main difference

The NFL has far better athletes, I love the Arena league and it has its own special features that make it great, but it still isnt better than the NFL or even equal

From what I read on a Chiefs message board, Casey Printers is battling out with Damon Huard to make the final QB spot on the team behind Trent Green and possibly ahead of Brodie Croyle on the Depth Chart.

The CFL has an import rule that means most of the backups are “non-imports†and there is a bit of a drop off to say the second half of them, but if you consider only the starters the CFL probably has better athletes in a general sense than the NFL. The two games are quite different so you can’t compare directly but if you’re comparing combine and pro-day numbers CFL players will be on average faster and quicker while NFL players will be bigger and more powerful. So I guess it all depends on how you define “better athltes.â€Â

Athlete - Running, Jumping, Catching, Strength, Agility, Acceleration

NFL > CFL

Even if its not by a Huge margin its still a gap, you dont have to be athletic to run fast

I understand what you're saying, and I agree with it to a degree, but there's more to sports than that. I mean college players aren't as good as NFL players but last year's Rose Bowl was one of the best games I've ever seen. Just because the NFL has better players and gameplans doesn't mean it's necessarily more enjoyable.

Id rather watch the best players than the second best players

College Football is great, but a lot of those guys will end up playing where? The NFL

Im not saying CFL football cant be fun to watch, but there is a reason the NFL is THE league...and the others are the place where the NFL rejects tend to go, Arena League, CFL, ect...

As a viewer, since that's all I'll ever be, I want an enjoyable game.
I would rather watch two 2-13 teams go down to the wire for second place in the draft than watch a blowout in the super bowl. Some of the most exciting games I've ever seen were played in my backyard or on a high school field, not by the most talented players in the world.

The NFL is THE league because football is an American sport, no other country in the world even comes close as far as playing and viewing football.

In all, I agree with you that the talent level in the NFL is second to none, but I'm trying to say that that talent level doesn't always make for great football.

Of course, There have been some Arena games Id rather watch than some NFL games, but on a consistant basis I think the NFL is overall more fun to watch than other leagues

And which would you rather watch, a close CFL game or a close NFL game?
