Anyone know a site that lists the current NFL free agents, just want to see what is out there for RB and LB

In terms of running backs Onterrio Smith and Moe Williams are out there. Two former vikings starting running backs. Once Onterrio Smith is reinstated he would be a steal because I'm sure he'd only get a minium deal. I know its tough to wanna bring another running back in with drug problems. But Onterrio has great skills and would be an excellent number 2 to ronnie brown. Plus he has great chemistry with Daunte Culpepper. In terms of linebackers I don't know alot, but there should be some solid players who get cut in July.

Onterrio Smith isnt likely to get reinstated this year, Im pretty sure that Williams retired.

Peter Boulware and Jamie Sharper are available if an emergency need for veteran LB's comes up.

I know Onterrio has to wait until July/August to apply again for reinstatement, because that is when a year from his suspension because his early reinstatement request was denied which definitely complicates things. And yea Moe Williams announced his retirement, but has not filed his paperwork, and as far as I read would play if the right situation came up. Such as a contended like the Dolphins inquiring in his availbility would probably peak his interest.

IMO, Gerald Riggs Jr could be the sleeper RB of this entire class. Coming out of High School he was the #2 RB in the entire nation. He had more than 1100 yards as a part-time runner his Junior year at Tennessee - including 180 is the SEC Championship Game. His Senior year was cut short because of injuries which caused his stock to plummet.

But make no mistake, this guy is the real deal. Hes got a lot of shake to his game, plenty of speed to break runs to the outside, and he never goes down at the first hit. He reminds me of a bigger Travis Henry. Nick Saban is well aware of his talent, having coached against him in the SEC.

Between Ronnie, Riggs, Kay-Jay, Morris and Minor, we have an abundance of talent at RB. In fact, at least one of those guys will not make the team. So I dont see us adding anyone else, certainly not anyone who will be able to overtake the backs already on our roster.

^^ I agree.

Saban said he was very sure Riggs would be there after the 7th round when they were contemplating taking him.

I've seen him play a few times and he is a good RB with good measurables that relate well to the NFL.

Good post. I hope you're right...but I'm not worried...Ronnie will come of age this season...and not need a back-up. :rawk:

Is Lamar Gordon still unsigned? I noticed on the link provided earlier that is does not say a 2006 team for him. Gordon didn't really receive a shot with us because of his injury.

hes not with the Eagles anymore?

according to that list travis henry is still out there. Lets bring him in, hes experienced and is proven.

are you guys talking about slow williams!? why?! is no one happy with the group of running backs that we have? ronnie brown, sammy morris and travis minor. why would we go after a retired player, he's that for a reason.
