I hope he picks it up more & gets a sack on Brady....he's had a lot of playing time due to injuries to Hayes & Branch.

Well, I was all for the pick and I like the fact he works and plays hard. So far, the return for a 1st round pick has not been there. He has ONE sack and 13 tackles for the year. I don't know how many hits or pressures but while Gase says that sacks don't mean much to him, they do. When you sack the QB it means the play is over and they lost yards. When you just hit the QB, he can still get the ball off and it can be a complete pass or even a TD and at worst they don't lose yards. Same for pressures. I'm not giving up on the kid after 12 games. I'm rooting for him to get better and hope he'll have a great season in 2018 but so far we have a 3rd round pick and a 5th round pick that have contribute a whole lot more than he has and there's just no two ways about it. He needs to step it up

He gets pressure as much as any of our DEs. And IMHO he has tightened up his run defense. He's 3rd on the team in snaps at DE, but I'd like to see him play more than anyone at the position over the last four weeks of the season. The kid needs experience.

I've noticed he's on the right side a lot going against LT's, which are typically the best player on the line. I'm just glad he's doing well enough to get consistent reps. Some guys (asiata) cant even get activated despite zero competition.

I was against the pick simply because it made no sense after signing Branch to that contract and then getting Hayes. Just how many snaps was he going to get?

But given his low snap count he looks pretty much in line with similar rookies;

Sacks

1. Carl Lawson DE, Cincinnati Bengals – 7
2. Myles Garrett DE, Cleveland Browns – 5
3. Derek Barnett DE, Philadelphia Eagles – 5
4. Takk McKinley OLB, Atlanta Falcons – 5
5. TJ Watt OLB, Pittsburgh Steelers – 4
6. Nazair Jones DT, Seattle Seahawks – 2.5
7. Jamal Adams S, New York Jets – 2
8. Deatrich Wise DT, New England Patriots – 2
9. Solomon Thomas DE, San Francisco 49ers – 2
10. Tyus Bowser OLB, Baltimore Ravens – 2

3rd on the team in snaps and 13 total tackles and 1 sack to show for it. Terrence Fede barely plays and has 10 total tackles. I've not been impressed.

Fede has 252 ST snaps, so I'm sure a few have his tackles have come on special teams. I agree I'd like better numbers from Harris this year, but he's consistently getting close to the QB. With experience those pressures will turn in to sacks.

I hoping they will turn into sacks but not so fast......one of his negative coming out was that he didn't have the speed that elite pass rushers normally have so I have to wonder if the main reason he's getting close but yet not getting there all the way is lack of speed. His moves are quick but when you get past the OT then that speed or lack thereof comes into play. I'm rooting for the kid but not sure he'll be the great pass rusher I was hoping for when we drafted him

I think he has the tools and technique to be at least a solid pass rusher, perhaps very good. At this point, Im more concerned with his ability to set the edge and play the run. Pass rushing specialist is nice but a stud 3 down DE is what we need...

Charles is nowhere near a 3 down DE. By the looks he might only be a rotational player. Just calling it like I see it.

Lawson has played 23 LESS defensive snaps than Harris and has 6 more sacks
Garrett has played 81 LESS defensive snaps than Harris with 4 more sacks
Barnett has played 44 LESS defensive snaps than Harris with 4 more sacks
McKinley has played 68 LESS defensive snaps than Harris with 4 more sacks

All played LESS SNAPS than Harris with more production/sacks

There’s really no rookie that’s taken the league by storm edge player wise. Carl Lawson is a situational rusher only plays in all pass rush situations. Myles Garrett the #1 pick.

The other night the cinci kid this board was bananas for didn’t even get a snap outside of specials.

Judging rookie edge rushers that don’t get the snaps or the opportunity due to what’s in front of them is pretty foolish.

Let’s see what 2018 brings when many of these kids will be counted on more.

I think the more significant issue is that the Fins aren't great covering underneath, intermediate routes, so the QB always has an outlet before the sack occurs. Let's just say this team doesn't get a lot of 'coverage' sacks that some D-Lineman benefit from. I see no speed issue with him for a man of his size, given his explosion off the line. If his work ethic is what it's touted to be and he stays healthy, he'll be very good or better in time.
