Are we still scared of the Jets? Was it because we didn't have homefield advantage? Was it because our opponent wasn't dying of head exhaustion? What happend to Gus Frerottes 275 yards and 2 TD's putting him in the top of passers of the NFL? It felt like 2004, really. Our secondary is starting to scare me now. What are we waiting for? Ricky? Our offensive line still sucks... I really don't see us getting favored anytime soon vs. any decent teams. After looking at last weeks high-lights... it's just sad.

Last year Miami was KILLED in New York. This does not feel like last year. Unless I misssed the Jets having two 100 yard runners against them yesterday.

A missed fieldgoal, penalties, and Miami not capitalizing on the Jets fumbles lost the game. Oh, Frerotte threw an interception in the 4th quarter.

it was 10-7 in the 3rd/4th quarter....our defense had some crucial penalties which let the Jets score....our defense did not come through at the end, but our offense did not come through in the middle of the game, we just need to be on the same page like last week.

We'll be ok.

+ A couple of drops in key situations and our WR's not fighting for the ball when they could have.

Hmm...what DID happen yesterday? Could it be that Miami is just a previous 4-12 team that improved in strides but is still not a perfect season caliber team? No, that can't be it!

Not fighting for the ball, and dropping passes they should have caught. I was happy with Gus... He didn't give the game away... You can say he did with that pick, but... We should not have been down 10 in the 4th.

True, true.

Frerotte is playing fine, he wasn't the reason Miami lost.

I, for one, feel the tone was set when we couldn't punch the ball in the end zone on the first drive, then missed a FG from extra point distance. I don't care whose fault it was, it set the tone. This team will get there, but they are not yet emotionally tough enough to overcome let-downs like that.

We didn't recover any of their 200 fumbles. They seemed to land on each one of them. This is sometimes just destiny, luck or what have you, not a lack of hussle. A couple of those balls land in our hands and the game is potentially much different (even though Taylor being off-sides on the first play would have negated a fumble recovery, you get the point).

Also, allowing Pennington to complete deep passes which resembled shanked punts is unforgiveable. I was embarassed for our DB's. How Howard even made this roster is a complete mystery to me. Every time they made a big play on 3rd and long it was because of him.

In summary, I think our inability to get anything out of a masterful first drive, our lack of being opportune on fumbles and horrible DB play, Howard in particular, are the 3 key reasons we didn't win this game by 10.
