What happened to cutting Matt Moore?

I would at least make Moore take a pay cut. I believe Moore was the highest paid backup QB in the NFL last year. Most of those guys on the list were cut and now Moore is like 5 million. That is a quality starter at many positions in the NFL, ie Starks. Moore can get 2.5 and move down that top 10 list a little or take a hike.

There's nobody even as remotely interesting as Matt Moore on the market. Seeing as Moore showed a fantastic deep ball in 2011, do you really feel like he would struggle to get the ball to Mike Wallace? If Tannehill can't cut it or gets hurt there is nobody I'd rather see manning this team (that is available) than Moore. And until we sign more linemen (instead of worrying about a backup QB we don't need with one on the roster), I'd say the chances of Matt Moore not seeing significant game action next year are slim to none. Tannehill only made it through last year by sheer luck, and it's hard to say that he wasn't beaten down by the last two games.

Many of them fear Matt Moore. They dont want anyone on the roster that may threaten Tannehill.

Free agency is far from over, and in a QB-starved market Moore may actually bring something in a trade.

I'm not a fan of paying someone $5 million to hold a clipboard, and Tannehill started all 16 games behind a dumpster fire o-line, so our starter is not exactly fragile. Made sense to have Moore in Tannehill's first and second year, but assuming we continue to gather pieces on offense, it's Ryan's time to sink or swim. If Tannehill doesn't cut it, we're drafting a replacement. It's not going to be Matt Moore.

Because we could sign someone to a one or two year contract who provides more value to the team? Let me put it this way: if the Dolphins had signed Revis to that deal the Pats made, and we cut Moore in order to make that happen while still having room to get more help on the o-line, would anyone complain?

Your argument is weak because we are still very healthy cap wise so we can keep Moore for now. Cutting him will not help us sign anyone else.
