Hi all. My first post here. I actually started this account to talk about this a little. I read about the Dolphins on the internet a lot, but due to my job time consumption I have never been a member of a forum like this. I work at least 80 hours a week, so I apologize in advance if it takes me a while to reply to people. I bet on us, not usually with my heart, but I bet BIG on us winning 10 games this season. And I am liking the early results. I certainly do NOT always win, but I win more than I lose.

My first question is: Why did a lot of the pundits have us as winning ALL SEASON 2-5 games? We have already won 2 and SHOULD beat the once again dysfunctional Raiders. I never understood the Vegas lines on that. I KNEW they were wrong. I felt like this bet was too easy. I bet on more things than just 10 wins, but that's another story.

#2 Aside from catastrophic injuries, how will we NOT at least win 10 games? (Yes, I know Ryan Tannehill is an AVERAGE QB, don't make this about him) Tannehill is not losing us games, that is most important. This TEAM is poised to win and is trending upwards.

How will our Miami Dolphins fail to win 10 games this season?

And why was I right and they will win 10+?

Go DOLPHINS!

Did you do any research before placing this bet on 10 wins? Why do you think they're wrong? Why do you think you're right?

Maybe the OP should wait till we play say, 6 games? Then we'll see where we at. So far we're 2-0 but it hasn't been perfect and that's fine but what will happen once we start playing better teams? Lets just take one game at a time and see what happens.

Teams aren’t picked to do well until they actually do it. Look at the Jags.

In Miami’s case, they go 10-6 but the QB is hurt and Cutler starts. They win 6. During that season they trade their starting back and in the off season they let Landry, Suh, and Pouncey go. To common fans they look at that purge and think the team is folding (hence the low win expectation).

I don’t blame folks for thinking Miami would go 5-11 or 6-10. Worst in the league? No.

welcome aboard but hold your horses.

Nothing has happened to warrant any kind of real praise or accolades just yet.

How will the Miami Dolphins fail to win 10 games? Overconfidence.

Its too early to gloat after beating the Titans and the Jets, but if the offense improves I think 10 wins is doable with our schedule.

If Ryan Tannehill didn't get injured last season, we would have won 10 games. We are more talented across the board and I LOVED the Minkah Fitzpatrick pick. Only other player I wanted was Baker Mayfield, and I never dreamed he would go #1 overall. I wanted to trade up to get him, but not that far.

"Put that coffee down. Coffee's for closers." 'Glengarry Glen Ross' is easily in my top 5. Should be a must watch for anybody in sales!
10 wins matches 2016.....it's doable.

Vegas don't wait for us to play ONE game, much less 6. Strike while the iron is HOT. Odds have already gone way down for 10 wins.

Are you Jeff Bridges? Because he is one of the greatest actors I've ever seen. lol

Losses are against the Jaguars, Patriots,Vikings,Packers and maybe the Bengals so that's 5 to 6 losses. If we beat all the teams we're supposed to beat, we should be in good shape.

We played 2 games and won, so for now we're better than most non fans anticipated. We still will have to beat better teams but we've beaten the teams we've played thus far. That's all we can ask for. Hopefully we win tomorrow and continue to prove the experts wrong.

Its interesting if you compare our roster/units with the Browns (another bottom feeder team according to pundits). How many units are we better at than them?
WR? No
TE? No
O-line? Don't know
RB? Probably
D-line? No
LBs? No
CBs? No
Safties? Don't know

On top of that they also have a proven defensive coordinator, a proven offensive coordinator, and Hue Jackson ran a pretty good offense as well. Without getting into the QB discussion I would say they are a better team than us on paper. But they also play in a much tougher division. The Bills are a guaranteed 2 easy wins. They don't have a cream puff team in the division like that. And the rookie Darnold is worth at least 1/2 a win to us.

At the end of the day superlatives like "playoff team" or being a "ten win team" don't mean much to me. I want to see evidence we are a championship calibre team. Beating up on the hapless Bills, like they beat up on us last season to be a "playoff team" is fine but I'm not drinking any koolaid over it.

And if you do want to get into the QB discussion I don't think many GMs take Tannehill-Osweiller-Fales-Falk over Mayfield-Taylor.

You bet them to win 10 games? Why didn’t you just bet the over when it was at 7 or even 8?

Go DOLPHINS!

Welcome to the forum. I have followed the Dolphins since I was a little kid. I'm 62 now.
I remember siting down with a guy at work every Friday and we used the spread in the news paper (Miami Herald) to place a bet on every single game that week. $10 a game. There were no Thurs, night games back then.
I always took the Fins and he always took the his team. I think it was the Steelers. But we bet on all the games. I always won most of my Miami bets back in those days. I was always ahead taking Miami.
Times have changed and that would not hold true anymore. I sure hope we get back to even better than we were back with Danny behind center.
