Last week it seemed he was going to join our defensive staff any minute, and now there's no news. Anybody know? I, for one, would be glad to have him on the team.

I heard that Capers took a job on NFL Primetime so Berman and Jackson wouldn't have to give up singing "Dom Dom Dom Dom...Dom Dee Dee Da Dom" :D

I think he will wait till there isn't a HC job left before he becomes a DC again. I think if he does become a DC we have a good chnace to land him because of the relationship between him and Saban. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I think he's waiting until all the vacancies are filled before making his next move. If he doesn't get a last second call, then I believe he'll join someone's staff as a D-Coordinator. Hopefully it will be here in Miami, but I believe that's what he's waiting for.

Dude, what's up with your avatar? WANNY?!?!?!?!?

I'd love to have Capers, but remember one other thing: His contract was terminated, meaning that the Texans have to pay him if he doesn't get another position somewhere. While I'm sure there was a severance package and he probably doesn't have to be coaching this year. So, he'll wait to see if he doesn't get looked at as a HC before he decides to come back as a DC....Just my two cents...

i really dont want capers there i hate the 3-4 defense

We use our hybrid 3-4 at least 70% of the time. And Saban specifically said that he uses 3-4 criteria to draft defensive players. We're primarily a 3-4 team whether we get Capers or not. I know some will argue that it is an over/under 4-3, but that's just people who didn't want to admit we would be switching. People are also confused when we go to a nickel package and they see 4 down lineman so they assume we're in a 4-3. The truth is when we're not in an obvious passing situation we stand up JT and give him LB responsibilities more than half the time so we have 3 players with lineman responsibilities and 4 players with LB responsibilities on the field more often than not.
