What home field advantage used to be like

that was awesome man i remember that night, I HOPE we regain that kinda home field advantage when they re do the stadium and put the canopy on, i think it will be much louder than the current stadium configuration, ONE CAN ONLY HOPE, GO DOLPHINS.

Yeah, remember when they used to stop the game and threaten a penalty if the crowd didn't quiet down. That only made them louder.

Home Field Advantage is Teal seats. I kid. Joe Robbie Stadium (Sun Life) got not Soul. My Pops took me to that Bears game. We sat on Concrete Slabs between two lines, that was your seat. And the OB just rumbled, everyone stomped their feet. Wish we could have built a Modern Orange Bowl, instead of another cheap makeover, with yet another new name...

The crowd with the new setup will definitely be louder and tougher on opponents, the only question is whether Goodell protects the Patsies from it with a new rule

The Patsies beat us in the 85 AFC Championship game in that Building. Goodballs did not help them then, and they don't need it now man.

I remember in the 81 season playing the eagles on Monday night and the noise got so bad that Jaws had to step back about 4 times and ask the officials for time. When they actually snapped the ball he was picked up by one of the Blackwood brothers and we won the division that year. Would be nice to get back to that.

This is what home field advantage is all about. The days of the Orange Bowl are missed! It used to be so exciting for the home games. How far the Dolphins have fallen over the years.

Rather, how far the fans have fallen. I still support the Dolphins in that manner.

When that canopy gets put in the sound could reverberate a lot. Get a winner and people in that place and maybe we have that home field.

I didn't think about that - the canopy should create some kind of noise containing effect. Part of what makes a game exciting is indeed the 12th man.

This is from the team's release:

“...We did a lot of sound studies,” Garfinkel said. “One of the goals was to try to make it as loud as we can. So we wanted the acoustics to keep the sound in the stadium as opposed to absorb the sound. With the roof canopy, it actually bounces the sound back down. It will be a very loud environment in here when the fans are loud. And that was important. I don’t know that we can ever duplicate or replicate the environment at the Orange Bowl. The Orange Bowl was a unique, special place, but certainly to try to make this as intimate and loud as we can was something we took a very hard look at...”
