What I like about the Chad Johnson signing

i just wish chad would've pulled a welker and said in his press conference that the entire time he was standing on sidelines for pats he really wished he was a dolphin.

Then we would know his mind is gone, and cut him. Just being realistic.

I said "receivers", not wide receivers. I'd condiser Gronk, Hernandez, Welker and Branch better receiving options for Brady than Ochocinco was.

Nobody was begging Chad for anything.

Gronk was injured. If Branch is better than Ocho, then we really could have found better talent in FA right now than ocho. If Hernandez meant more to the passing game than Ocho that should speak volumes of his worth in a uniform period.

And yes they were hoping and asking him to step up. Sorry you took me so literally with "begging"

WIth an homage and all props to Bum Phillipps, for year the Patriots have taken your'n and beaten our hisn, theirn and beaten ourn, whatever. They got from us former Dolphins Larry Izzo, Sammy Morriss, Heath Evans, Wes Welker, Rob Ninkovich, Will Allen (recent signing) and a few others and have beaten us with their help, looking smart in the process.

Just to clarify. Bum Phillips when being interviewed, he was asked about Don Shula. He responded with these famous words describing coach Shula:
"He can take yours and beat hisn". "He can take hisn and beat yours".

If Chad Ochocino does well here, it wont be because "Miami knew how to use him, but NE didnt", it will be because "Miami has a simpler and less diciplined offense". Thats just the way the media spins things.

This will be true unless Miami beats NE with CJ playing his part in the win. Then we'll get due credit.

But they didnt. Mostly because they had better receivers, like the ones I mentioned above. Its not Chad's fault that Welker dropped that pass at the end of the game.

Nah Branch is just as washed up, NE had no outside threats. If they did, and they could next year, that offense will be even better.

They dont need an outside threat in that offense. Let me put it this way....Welker had 122 receptions, Gronk had 90 receptions, Hernandez had 79 receptions, and Branch had 51. They had the 428 passing yards per game, and that was while they maintained the lead. I dont think spreading the ball around to another WR is going to help much, and there was really not much pressure on Ochocino to be the player you guys think he is.

I know damn well what the exact quote was, thank you.

At the end of the day, if a talent like Ocho dedicates himself, as he has every motivation to do, he can make a solid contribution. That's all he needs to do. He may go beyond that, but that wasn't the primary motivator in signing him. They took him because he's an experienced receiver who can catch and hold on to the ball and is healthy. They only have one or two of those at this point.

Chad just tweeted this :

Chad Ochocinco@ochocincoActually it's Chad Johnson now RT @andy08_01: wow @ochocinco footwork is insane. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ4i79HT5hI

Looks like he's changed his name back to Johnson before his wedding as promised ;-)

Yes, It's Chad Ocho Cinco, but I'm boycotting that hideous name change.

Now it's our turn- I'm inclined to think that Chad was either mismanaged in New England or wasn't a good fit, and that Joe Philbin and Mike Sherman will actually get better production out of Chad than Bellichick did by wisely playing to his strenghts instead of focusing on his mental/playbook limitations. Just line the dude up and play, he's an all-pro talent and he's a WR PLAY MAKER- does any team in the league need production out of one of those more than us?

I love the signing and I think that he'll have a very good year for us. I'd like to see a lot of him and Jeff Fuller out there, with Gates stretching the field if he's ready to go this year.
