Like to see Grant play over Parker. I do believe with Grants speed. It will open up Stills and Landry. Parker is like a big log out there, and is killing Stills.

Like to see Carroo. See what he can do with 15 to 18 snaps. If we don't see him next few weeks. It's clear he's a bust along with Parker.

Like to see Drake in a WR set 5 times to find a mismatch. Green Bay does this, and it works. Drake looks like he has Natural catching ability.

So what you guys like to see next few weeks.

I want to see any player who has an ounce of potential given a chance. In my opinion some of these players include:
  • Eric Smith
  • Duarte & Gray (more meaningful opportunities)
  • Brendel instead of Pouncey
  • Chase Allen
  • Grant and Carroo and maybe even Scott
  • FOLES!!!!! Can he be our backup??
Let us find out what we have, determine what we need and fill as much as possible in free agency and then infuse youth with the draft.

So, this is essentially another ‘Parker is a bust’ ?

I mean thats all the main post really says (which is pretty off as far as Parker is concerned)

Anyways....

-more Jesse Davis. I want to get a better look at him at RT
-Eric Smith (also think T is his best spot) but want to see him in general
-Asiata, will he ever get some live reps?
-Tankersley, can he get healthy and keep improving.
-Harris, want to see him do something
-Gray involved more in the offense

I don’t think carro has been given a fair shot

The number one thing I want to see in the next few weeks is for Jesse Davis to continue to play well at RG, and whoever starts at RT (Smith or Young) to likewise continue to play well.

Because if we've potentially found competent players to man the right side of the line, well, that's a huge step in the right direction and also reflects very well on our new OL coach.

I too want to see Davis and Young improving. Not sure Smith will even be active but I'd like to see what he can do too. Brendel also.
I want to see more snaps for Harris and Taylor and the other DE Malvaux(SP?)
Also Mctyer(SP?) the rookie corner and now that Thomas is done I guess we'll see more Gray

Ozzy rules!!

I agree.

I'm positive that the coaching staff knows what they have. I'll have a better idea of what they think of our backups after this draft. We seem to be having a little success with our undrafted free agent selections, which is always a plus. When I can see over a 35% to 40% success rate with our draftees I'll be happy. Unfortunately it seems to take up to 3 years before we really know.

That is a huge step. Looking forward of seeing this also..

I am all for giving the youngsters a chance to see what they have, hell I have pushed for it since day one, but you have to remember that's what training camp is for. No one is going to give you anything you have to go out there and earn it, if these player want playing time bust your a$$ in camp and get noticed, very few coaches are going to put a player in the game just to see what they have unless he somehow stands out with his play. If you go get it, they'll get you in the game fast enough believe me.

I'm not sure why the OP is receiving grief over Parker. I thought his "like a big log out there" was the most accurate description to date.

That's exactly what Parker is...a lumbering heavy legged guy who plays with his head down and with very little football instincts or effort. It was particularly glaring last week when Landry was cleverly finding the little gaps while Parker was generally baffled.

Just too bad Landry is so slow and not exactly Paul Warfield in terms of class.

The right side of the offensive line is indeed an intriguing area. Just don't place full stock in any improvement. The multiplier can't be higher than .8 in terms of legitimacy. I warned about this years ago in regard to some other player, although I don't remember who it was. Late in the season when everyone is worn out, and the team in question has been mediocre or worse all season, it's very easy for a fresh lineman or two to come in and play far above his actual level. Then if you get all excited about that and pencil him in there's huge jeopardy of real world exposure to begin the following season, when everyone is healthy and taking you seriously. If the coaches aren't particularly sharp and don't anticipate that type of thing they'll be scratching their heads and wondering what the heck happened.

I want to see this team play hard these last two games and finish at 8-8. I don't give a damn about dropping a few spots....I want two Ws and for us to end the season on a positive note. That's it. I could give a damn who wins the SB. (I'll be rooting against NE tho).
