The season is almost over for us, but there are a lot of things to evaluate in order to have a good offseason. We need to take some huge decisions with some positions, and we need to spend smart money.

1. First I really have a good feeling about Ajayi, if he is durable he can be the surprise of the draft. Next year we may need to decide if we keep Miller, and giving Ajayi lot of valuable snaps on the next games will be crucial on that decision.

2. We need to scuffle the OL to find if there is some value at OG behind Turner, and aquality OT backup, Albert and Pouncey are the two keepers but the rest of them(even James) can be upgraded. We need to evaluate which ones to keep. Give opportunities to the backups to play RT and LG and see what we have.
3. We need more middle range, long range passes on our game plan, 90% of NFL quarterbacks can make short passes and screens, but you need those middle/long passes to win because if you don’t connect them you will see everyone close to the LOS and your running game will disappear if the other team does not respect the deep part of the field. I really would like to see Matt Moore on the field, first because he is the most expensive backup on the league and because I want to see if he can give this offense a new dimension or if the OL is so bad that the poor Tannehill is not able to do his job. The only way to know it is to play a different QB, like the 49ers and the Texans did. You need to see if the investment you have on your “franchise” QB is justified or if your backup QB can do more things then you have a BIG problem to solve.
4. Need to find a pass rush on your DL, beside Suh and Vernon you have no one capable and your top player may be playing his last season because of age and injuries. Put McCain, squad players, other teams squad players, anyone you can find will be a gift for next year because we already wasted the Jordan pick and the Odrick 1[SUP]st[/SUP]rounder’s and it will be a shame to have the need of another DE in next years draft.
5. Our secondary is in a horrible situation, the only player that look amazing is Jones. Grimes have a couple of years left as a #2 CB, but we need to find the other players worth a dime on the back of our defense. Need to see more Lippet,Bobby McCain and Bowman or anyone that can be a hope for next year. Taylor and McCain are just a waste of a roster spot for next year.
6. Need to see if there is some LB that can cover the middle of the field, Misi and Jenkins are good but not MLB’s, try Hewitt, Vigil, Hull or anyone that may improve as season progress and have a shot at manning the position for next year
7. Finally coaching staff needs to show they can do some interesting game planning, cause motivation guts and energy is only taking you this far. We need innovation, brains, discipline and improvisation skills to make it that far. We need to validate if a new regime is needed.

I agree with more long range and intermediate passes in our game plan.....but I'm afraid our offensive scheme is all about short passes and YAC. Ironically, we seem to be successful when we try more long and intermediate passes (I hope Lazor is listening).

I do not agree with putting Matt Moore on the field and I could care less how much we are paying him.

The line needs a complete revamping which is near impossible to do in one off season. Pouncey is the only sure thing on the line. James is young and raw but should be able to be at least a back up. I am not interested in backups when the starting 5 are terrible. Alberts is getting long in the tooth and cannot stay healthy. Not sure he is worth the cap hit but I'm betting the dead money would not be nice. Keep him for another year and plan accordingly (the planning is what concerns me because we haven't been able to adequately plan this roster for YEARS).

You can't bench Tannehill for Matt Moore, period. We already know what Matt Moore will do. He is proven and nothing needs to be seen there.

Defensive line is fine. First 4 games were crap because they quit on Philbin. If Suh stays and is productive you will like the Phillips pick because this kid is going to be a monster in the next few years next to Suh. Wake is getting up there and his replacement needs to be found. Vernon can be retained for the right coin or let walk. The rest of the dline rotation is fine.

Linebacking core is trash. Every one needs replaced besides Jenkins. Don't even need to deliberate it. Linebackers are a huge reason why this defense sucks.

Secondary is hot garbage just like the linebacking corp. Besides Jones and Grimes (he is not a true number 1 corner) there is nothing to be excited about here. Blow this up.

The Dan Campbell 2 week media darling is over and he will not be a HC at the end of the year. Yeah he has big muscles and its a good down home story but he won't survive because this talent is void of competent talent in key positions that will all but guarantee the dolphins win 5-6 games this year.

aren't we one game off the wild card? just saying

That is why I said "almost" over. That and the way our team is playing if you compare them with Steelers, Raiders, Jets and Bills. (the other "contenders")

Matt Moore is not proven with this receiving corps. I think Mathews, Landry, Cameron and Stills are far better and he could be far better too, just give him a chance and see what happens, there is nothing left to loose.

DL is not fine, they are lacking pass rush and strenght to keep OL on check

Every time we gave matt moore a chance he would hit a few passes then turn the ball over. It's proven. He has had plenty of chances in the NFL.

Dl line was fine until Wake just went down. Verdict is still out. Suh was beast at times yesterday and phillips got a sack. The linebacking corp completely sucks as does the secondary sans jones. First 4 games the guys weren't trying under philbin. They have a solid rotation and starting 4.

I want to see more of the young guys like Ajayi, Jordan Phillips, Bobby McCain, DeVante Parker & Chris McCain. Less of guys who have no future with the team like Damien Williams, CJ Mosely, Brice McCain & Greg Jennings.

It's funny, (in relation to a different thread "turning the corner") I've slowly watch Miami fans have more interest in the offseason than the regular playing season over the past decade.
It's just interesting.

Bound to happen when your team has been terrible for so long and are never in the playoffs. Only thing Dolphins fans have to look forward to is that maybe they will finally put some competent people in charge and start building towards making the team a winner again.

Here's what I DON'T want to see the rest if the year. Anymore threads telling us how much people hate our starting QB bla bla bla....we get it. You guys hope he plays bad so you and your ego can tell us how you were "right".

I don't hate Tannehill, he is a model player, he works hard and puts his best effort game after game, now .... if only he had the necessary talent ? But he doesn't. Sometimes it is not the effort but the talent level. Sparano was a VERY hard worker, but he had not a clue of how to gameplan for scoring touchdowns. Fist Pump!!!!

Tannehill is a converted WR, he lacks pocket instincts and has por touch and ball placement (and we are on year 4 of his "developement"), he is better than anything we had since Marino, but anything since Marino has been terrible so that is not a big compliment. Can we win a Superbowl with him? I believe we can, but it will take a once in a decade defense, or a complete team like the one the Ravens had with Flacco or the 49érs with Kaepernick or the Bengals have this year with Dalton. Now, I think given our recent failures on drafting and FA it is more probable to have a winning team with a TOP 10 QB talent like the Patriots, the Panthers, the Steelers, the Packers, the Falcons, the Saints, the Giants, the Cardinals, the Cowboys and the Chargers.

Ok, fair enough. I have no problem with anyone thinking that they don't believe we can win with him. After all, we haven't yet thought not all of it is his fault. The problem I have is with people telling us after every play that doesn't result on a 1st down how we need another QB. Some people just have an agenda. They are hoping he never gets better even when that would mean the team won't win rather than to hope he does get better resulting in the team winning and having to admit they were wrong. Right now I don't know if we can or can not win with him but I'm hoping for the best of the team.

I want an O-line already. Please, please just get us a ****ing O-line and I promise you things will get better. Every ****ing coach/analyst/commentator say it: The game starts with the guys up front. The elite QB's in this league have at least 1 thing in common, their outstanding offensive line.

I agree bro ! Actually I really pray that Tannehill will somehow turn into a TOP 10 QB, like Brees did (after 4 years of being "mediocre"), it is not common but I really hope for it to become a reality someday soon.
