What if I told you that Wallace has been deliberately running lazy routes and giving a penny's effort on catches this year just to stick it to Tannehill because he never really cared for him in the first place...

Now don't ream me but there has been a time or two I have wondered about this or not and with the fiasco yesterday, it does have me weighing it a bit more. I'm conflicted on this a bit as well though since Wallace obviously cares about stats and looking good. I find myself saying that there isn't any reason why this would be true and then I find myself saying that I do believe it is completely true.

Just a little bit of deep thought for your Monday morning...lol

I'm not gonna lie, there's been a couple time where I thought that Wallace gave up on a passes that weren't "perfect' just so he could say "see, I told you RT sucks"... At the time, I thought better of it and told myself that's just ridiculous. Now that I know what an unprofessional bitch-baby he actually is, I'm not so sure.

Hmmmm.....I don't think I would believe that.

From my view, Wallace played hard most of the year. Sure, there were times when he could have fought for a ball harder or didn't seem to try as hard, but those were rare examples in my opinion. Overall, I thought he fought hard through 15 games.

I would like to know more about WHAT he was upset about that it came to having words with RT....especially after a successful TD drive.......but there is no excuse for his behavior yesterday.

With that said, the legend will grow throughout the week and by Friday, Wallace will have been on the grassy knoll in Dallas and will live in Area 51. I didn't see any indication of this behavior...at this level....prior to yesterday.

I think that Wallace has been trying all year. He has had some better games than others and it sounds like he imploded yesterday when he wasn't getting a look. He got emotional and then he bacame irrelevant. Good players like Mike need to be fed the ball.
I hope that it isn't his last game as a Dolphin. He's our best WR and we need him.

This is ridiculous.

If you theory were true that Wallace doesn't like tannehill, I know one thing Mike Wallace does like. His numbers and his stats, and I believe team success as well.
Why would he every intentionally try not to produce? If anything he wasnts to make plays bc he wants personal success...

Was that a "penny's effort" last week fighting for a 50/50 ball at the 2 and diving for the pylon? How about the week before he the one handed TD and getting his knee down? How about the slant against new England in endzone he fought for a forced ball in coverage?
What a brutal thread. Find a better way to portray Tannehill as an all time great to appease ur agenda. There are plenty of ways to rip Wallace, this one is just absurd

Put down [Removed by Mod] that big ass fish for a second long enough to realize that this thread is nothing more than an observation and a slight one at that. If you really would like to get into an argument on effort I'm not really looking to do battle. I will say though that I can count more effort-lacking plays than effort-showing plays...

Awesome of you to bring up my agenda though...I'll keep that one in my back pocket.

It is A FACT that WALLACE put HIMSELF before the team. PERIOD. How do you defend that? When, as a player, you say, "if you don't throw the ball to me, I'm not gonna play" that is putting yourself before the team. That is literally saying "I don't care if we lose, if I don't get mine, I'M not playing and I don't care how it affects my teammates ... if I don't get mine, then f-ck everyone else"... That's EXACTLY what he said with his actions. How you can defend that is so far beyond me its inconceivable.

Great, he played what, 3 games like a number 1 receiver? What about the rest? And don't act like he can't be replaced, this year's draft is deep with WR talent, we'll get a bigger receiver with better hands who just wants a chance to play. And Princess Wallace can take her one-girl act to some other team.

If its true that Wallace only cares about himself....Your observation is still way off. He wants personal success and numbers.

Funny how someone can call someone a drug user (steroids) on here. But others get banned for saying moron, or clown..

I am no huge Wallace fan. hut, he played hard this year, well until the second half of yesterday, and he was productive. Wallace has never been a problem off the field, and IMO legitimately wants to win. He is limited in a few things (Mainly adjusting to ball in air, playing above his chest etc) but he is what he is. But the value he has to this offense is pretty obvious imo

10 TDs is a career high for Wallace, he could have a few more without the drops and half-assed efforts. He's got no room to complain and I really don't think he's smart enough to orchestrate anything more than the temper tantrum we saw yesterday.

The OP was about this whole season, not just yesterday. The OP said Wallace was not giving effort this season on balls thrown his way "a penny's effort on catches"- That is not even close to true. To me, it isn't effort on the plays you call effort. IMO Wallace is like the left fielder on my company softball team who can't judge a fly ball. Wallace cannot adjust to a ball in the air, loses the ball a lot, its very odd. But, Mike Wallace throughout this season played hard on balls thrown his way.

Now, if you want to talk about blocking when he is not a target etc, that is more fair than "penny's effort on catches"

he could have a few less if not for the GREAT plays the last 2 weeks. He had 4 drops this season, that is not a high number.
I know everyone needs a guy to pile on, and yesterday makes it very easy. if what is reported is true that he quit on his teammates that is completely unacceptable. But, to say he didn't try all year is wrong

I never defended what he did yesterday. I defended his effort this season, not his actions yesterday.

I'm talking about the whole season as well. There were plenty of balls it looked to me like he half-assed because they weren't perfect. Besides that, even if it's because of what you say, you can't have your number one receiver be a guy who "cannot adjust to a ball in the air" and, "loses the ball a lot." That's like having a closing pitcher who has a hard time finding the strike zone... Maybe Wallace isn't getting the ball thrown to him as much BECAUSE he "loses the ball a lot", and BECAUSE he has the catch-radius of a hamster. Like I said, he played about 3 games this year where he looked like a legit #1; that's not enough. If I was Tannehill, I wouldn't trust him either.

That's fine, but it wasn't effort this year IMO...Also, it isn't Wallace's fault he is paid like a number 1 wr. Unfortunately the cap casualty is too high to cut IMO. I would love a legit big bodied 1, Wallace as #2 and Landry in slot...

Trade him to the WR needy Niners?

I thought I just read somewhere that his cap his is only like $5.6 Million if we cut him after June 1st, otherwise he's due like $9+ million next season if we keep him. Given that Philbin is coming back next year, I don't think the short circuit between Wallace and Tannehill (and perhaps the rest of the team now) is repairable. Maybe a new coach could come in and fix it, but that apparently isn't happening. So I think we take the hit and look for a legit number 1 in the draft ... There should be one there at #14.

well it goes back to him stating in preseason about not running all day downfield to make him weak. problem is, already weak.
