let's just say that ricky comes back looking like his old form and tears it up do we keep him or trade him.well myself i really like r.brown i know he hasn't played a down in the nfl yet but i just have that gut feeling that this guy is going to be an allpro.next year if ricky really shows that he has changed his ways do we maybe trade him for a good qb or wr just wanting to hear peoples opinion.

The only reason Ricky ticked up 1,300 yards 2 seasons ago was because he was running the ball on every damn play. He only had 3.8 yards per carry and had visibly deteriorated from the year before.

I don't think he'll be in that form. I think he'll have to get into camp and show some clear improvement to lock onto the starting spot -- which I feel he will get as Ronnie will have limited time to prove himself.

IF he does...

that would be freaking great

but didnt he say he only wants to play 2 seasons? so hed have one left. if we could trade him to a team trying to go for bust, then awesome. if not, might as well keep him to save the legs of ronnie while the rest of the team becomes more competitive.

that would be so awesome tho; i miss watching those powerful runs.
ricky was the most exciting thing to watch since dan.

no doubt man i will never forget those runs in bills country we lost but man it was not ricky's fault we should have one that game

in 2004 he didnt do great because the defense knew all we would do is feed it to him every down. in 2002 he had 1853 yards, 16 tds, and 4.8 ypc i think.

If he does return to the form before we trade him we better make sure ronnie brown is the real deal. Do not trade ricky if ronnie struggles his first year, for all we know the guy COULD be a bust. He was the right HB to draft imo, but he hasn't played a down in the NFL and Ricky shouldnt be traded unless Ronnie can prove he can handle the workload.

because he could quit again or fail another drug test at a moments notice. Of course that could be said for any player, but given Ricky's past the likelyhood is much greater with him. If he shows some of his old form, he may build some trade value that we could take advantage of, leaving the uncertainy of his future to some other team to worry about.

you guys think it is so easy to make trades. There are not at all. This is not baseball where trades are frequent. Anyways it makes no sense to trade ricky williams if he has a good year. No team will want to take a player who has caused problems with 2 organizations. Our best bet is to try and keep him and see what he does. Ricky Williams talent is far beyond the compensation that we would receive in return. Their is no way I want to trade ricky williams for less than a 2nd round pick. We gave up 2 first rounders for this guy!!! We might as well get some use from him!

he probably wouldn't get a lot of trade value for that exact reason. why would some team risk a pick for a guy who would just leave them. Besides, shaun alexander and edgerrin james couldn't get enough interest for a 1st rounder. they were 2 of the leagues top 3 rushers this season. Even if ricky has a good year, we'd be lucky to get a 4th for him. and thats if he has an amazing year.

could that detoriation have been the result of a bad line or worse passing offense than the year before as well?

which ricky williams were you watching? The reason he had only 1,300 yards 2 seasons ago was the fact that he was running behind a line that was worse than last years.

Well put! This is the only option that makes sense. Do you really want to hang the hopes of a team that desperately needs to rebuild on a guy you can't count on? He could quit on you again at any time. He could fail a drug test at any time. Let him become another team's headache while we get some high value picks for him. Teams that are desperate do desperate things for picks. We gave up a 3rd for Gordon, a 2nd for Feeley. Get the point??

....if Ricky is coming back and play like the " old Ricky " Brown better show what his got, I guess my memory still good enough to remember how good Ricky was. I have no doubt that Brown is going to be special.
