I just got off the phone with my buddy and he mentioned something about New Orleans and Yeremiah. He also said that it was said by an insider that (last week) that if Bell is offered a deal, Mueller would not counter.........henceforth, another second rounder in our midst.

That would be four picks from 40-71. I think we could score big with five immediate starters/major PT players. Which is what Mueller wants. Five first day guys we score big on. I actually hope this would happen and I think Laron Landry would then be our pick at 9 for sure and then everything else is offense.

sure does sound tempting but i doubt someone bites for a 2nd on yerimiah...but we all did with wes too!

I hope no one offers a pick, because I'd like to keep Bell as our starter. But if someone wants to give up their second rounder to us... sure, why not.

I love bell....but again, like wes, if someone signs his offer sheet, SAYONARA!

I don't think so. new Orleans just signed a S but I would be happy if we could get a 3nd rd pick for him.

we would have to let him go.

I think we drafted him in the sixth round when we got him.

I really thought he would be gone by now. He is showing some promise.

My plan was to start him at safety with landry and move allen to S, but if he disappears than allen might have to stay at safety and we would almost certainly take landry, and if he's gone, reach with R. nelson.
We would have to fill the spot regardless.

Very true. Honestly, I did not believe Wes would be signed away for a 2nd rounder, I thought we would either trade him for almost nothing or just cut him altogether. I don't believe anyone would give us a 2nd rounder for Bell though. He's a nice player and I love Bell, but like that doesn't mean we can't upgrade at the position.

They dont have to offer us a pick. they just have to make an offer.

Once again, this is not a trade deal. This is an offer sheet when a player is tendered for second round. Like Wes. All a team has to do is offer the player a contract and then they give up a second automatically.

It is well know by now that Mueller is selling off for picks. When teams know this, they look at the player and see if the value is there. I think for sure that Bell would be gone if an offer were to come, especially higher than NO's pick.

BTW, my buddy goes to a whole bunch of sites and always surprises me with stuff and tonight was no different. It got me thinking. This could happen especially since NE did Wes and the whacky FA continues to be whacky.

I haven't really heard about any team being interested in Bell. Anyone rumored besides New Orleans?

New Orleans is the team that was mentioned and no one else. He probably got it off of a site where "some people on the inside" go. My buddy is pretty thorough and can recognize BS and this did not sound like BS. But that doesnt mean it will happen or that it was even really talked about with any seriousness by the teams.

cool, get a second day pick. id say trade two second rounders for a first. that would give us 2 1st rounders and 1 second rounder...then trade down a few spots, givng us 2 1sts and 2 seconds this way we can grab olsen in late first round....I dunno what guys id want, but olsen would be sweet. maybe grab meriweather...Im living in a Cane world lol

Wow the fire power we would have with 3 2nd rounders. I would like to keep Bell though, he makes plays on the field.

Sounds like wishful thinking, but a 2nd for Bell would also be nice because, let's face it, he's not worth a 2nd rounder either. Renaldo Hill and Jason Allen are both starter quality safeties, and this is a VERY good safety draft.

So if you want to ask me would I consider it worth it to have Yeremiah Bell go off to New Orleans for a 2nd round pick which we then use on Sabby Piscitelli? Yeah, I'd do it.

I liked Bell... But you can't turn away from a second round pick for him. That would be a huge return in value for him. He does have a knack for big plays but he didn't seem very well rounded for a Safety.
