What If The Top 5 O-lineman

it was in 2008. he started off as center, then late in the season moved to guard. not sure what game though.

Don't remember that but it would make sense with Sparano who liked to play musical chairs with the O-line.

Actually I was following Twitter last night and NFL Film study (Ian W.) and CK seem to believe Turner and Smith would be Superior to Thomas and Colledge especially when it came to run blocking. The still photos sure backed that up granted it was against backups. Take it for what's it's worth. On a positive note Ja'waan James was our highest rated pass blocker per PFF and this Ian W. for the last 2 weeks. Encouraging for a rook especially considering I've seen all of last years big tackles struggle at times (boy did it look like the Chiefs were missing Brandon Albert last night). James will have his struggles I'm sure but it looks like he may be an immediate upgrade to Tyson Clabo.

Saw those tweets too and after seeing Turner manhandle that guy, I'd like to see him get a shot with the 1's

You must have missed this one, then. Just pushing a guy five yards downfield. That's what we need on the field.

So I just watched this play again....and that frame that you have here is when Shelly Smith first makes contact with the LB 3 yards off the LOS (because nobody lined up over Shelley Smith), but he couldn't seal the block and that same LB then proceeds to make the tackle on that play, resulting in only a 1 yard gain for Miami. Good job by Smith moving to where he needed to be, but he couldn't seal his man off. I'm not sure you want to be using this frame as an endorsement of Shelley Smith.

If Satele is a serviceable center and we nothing but hot garbage for options at RG then the answer seems like a no brainer to me. Pouncey might not like it but its up to the coach to convince him to like it. Winning trumps hurt feelings. And a line of Albert-Colledge-Satele-Pouncey-James could actually be above average.

You only solve one position with that move. James has struggled in run blocking so far, Albert has never been known as a run blocker...he's average at it, Colledge is not a good run blocking Guard and Satele is also not good at run blocking...so what have you accomplished? The two best run blockers on this team, Smith and Turner, are still on the bench.
