I doubt this happens, but then again who's to say it won't.. If it does, and Pennington wins fair and square, do you feel it isn't right to Henne still? Just asking, I don't think it will happen, lol, don't get on me...

Bringing back Pennington to start over Henne would be short-sighted. A move like that isn't going to help us in our age old problem of finding a young "Franchise QB" (hopefully we already have him) that can lead this team for the next decade (or more). I don't want to see us risk Henne's development, the sooner we find out what we have in Henne, the better off this franchise will be (long-term).

Won't happen, simply because it makes no sense at this point. If Henne really struggled then okay but he's ready to take off as a franchise QB.

The fact that they had announced Henne as the 2010 starter over Penny last year and before he was hurt again kind of points me to say not happening.

That just doesn't make sense. Henne showed me a lot of things this season, being as how he was thrown into the game with the Penny injury. Alot of backups would have just laid down and took it up the rear. He just got better every game, he seems relaxed out there when he throws. All we need is to get him some weapons to throw at now.

Pennington wont be back. He'll retire.

I cant see how his shoulder can withstand whats required to be an NFL QB.

Good luck to him...Shame his career was blemished by playing for the Jets so long...lol.

I think, if healthy, Pennington is the better QB at this time. I would have no problem with giving him a chance to compete.

I don't think he will retire... I can't understand why some feel that way, he said himself his goal is to play. I just don't think he will play in Miami again.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pennington the starter, but I think he should have to CLEARLY outperform Henne. And it doesn't matter who the starter is if we don't get a big time reciever in here.

I feel bad for Penny. I really do. The guy just epitomizes class, and has the heart of a warrior. This is now his third shoulder injury, and 4th serious injury in a span of 9 years. I honestly don't think he has much left to give. He puts himself out there all the time, and at some point he has to evaluate what is good for himself and his family. He has plenty of money, but Im sure he wants to be able to throw the football around with his kid someday.

With that said, Pennington would make an excellent coach, IMO.

I want Pennington to retire and come onto our staff as a consultant. He's a genius when it comes to football and identifying coverages (evident by completion %). I'm sure part of the reason why Henne looked as well as he did was because of what he learned from Pennington (how to prepare and be a professional, how to identify coverages, etc.) I feel that with Pennington behind him, Henne will blossom into a very solid QB.

Penny's great & we all love him. Although still better than Henne, he's not our future.

Penny's best shot for glory is with a good team, a la Vikings (already has $$$).
His very best shot might be coming off the couch when someone goes down ... a Manning, Brees, Brady, Rivers, etc. I'll be rooting for him!!

Pennington or not, Henne will have some competition in training camp. That's how Parcells does things. Even Dan Carpenter had competition from Connor Barth. The real question is whether or not we'll have three or four QBs in the competition: Ireland seems to subscribe to Ron Wolf's "draft a QB every year" philosophy, but we might not have that luxury this year.

i say u bring in chad p to be back up, and tt for 3

Penny is done for his carrer, We need to compite Tyler and Henne for the start next year, and bring an played guy as a 3rd stringer!!!
