I know that everyone here wants us to get a new QB. I personally can't wait until the draft to see who we get. Anyways, I see a bunch of other threads about people wanting DL's, CB's, WR'S, OL'S and others. But if we actually do settle for a mid round pick (which is likely) and we have to settle for one of those other possitions, who will be our QB next year? I mean, their aren't many free agent QB's right now that are worth getting. Do you guys really want to spend another year with Gus at QB? Or even another Fiedler or Feeley? I know I don't. I think that even if we do pick in the 10-15 range, we should still pick a QB. And I know we still have to build around our other positions too, but we still need a QB. What do you guys think?

Everyone seems to agree that the team doesn't have a shot at Leinart (at least not without trading away years worth of picks). We seem to be interested in Quinn, Young and Cutler. But Quinn and Young may not declare, and picking Cutler seems like a stretch at our position.
It would be a bad strategy just to take the next available QB in the first round. You want first round quality in the first round. So if things don't work out, we shouldn't be afraid to look elsewhere.
But if a QB we like is there, you take him. That said, I think if Texas wins the national title (and Quinn is true to his word), we could be introducing Vince Young as our first pick

I will be very upset. Its the #1 need on this team. A true accurate leader. If Leinart or Young(He's growing on me a little bit) is available, we have to get one of the two. We have Ronnie and Ricky in the backfield, we need somebody to get the job done at qb, so we can have open running lanes.

If Miami doesn't draft a QB in the first round, then DRAFT DEFENSE!!

If Young and Quinn dont declare there wont be a qb available at our spot worth taking. Odds are we arent taking a qb w/ our first pick

if we don't get a QB in the first then we'll get Jay Cutler in the second. but i don't think Saban will pull a Wanny and refuse to get us a franchise QB. the only way we don't pick a QB is if Quinn stays in school and Saban decides to wait for him (and then try to get him at all costs in 07)

*cough* A.J. Hawk*cough*

... unfortunately, he probably won't be there when we pick....:(

Maybe Sage will some way some how with some long shot with more opportunities become an above average QB. I know he sure looked pretty decent today. It's a long shot though...I think.

QB? Maybe. I think there are enough holes on the team that we need to draft "The best player available."
Might be a QB (I would really like Brady Quinn if he comes out), but we could also use another stud DL, Outside LB, Defensive back, WR, LT etc.....

With our win today I can see that Leinart is out of the picture, if he was ever REALLY in it......I hope we get Quinn with our mid-round pick......ppl have their opinion on which QB other then Leinart to get, Culter etc. But I want Quinn (unless Young comes out)

here's the way I see it.If we win 3 more games then we'll be picking in the middle of the first round. We won't get Leinart at that point and if the 2 others don't come out then nobody's worth taking at that point....the next best QB could be Cutler but he's not gonna last till the middle of the 2nd round for us to take him...so do we take him in the first knowing that he won't be there in the 2nd? Or do we go defence with a player worth taking at our spot(Bing, Greenway if they're there?)and go QB in the 2nd or 3rd(Pinnegar, Olsen)? I think Nick wants value and he'll go defence with our top pick.I wanted Ngata but after watching Manny and with Vickerson there I could wait for a DT later on.I want a LB or 2 if we don't get one in free agency but we do need a QB on day one, I just don't think is gonna be in round one.

Ozzy rules!!

Let say we end up with a 7-9 or 8-8 record. We would then be picking around 15th. I say trade down several spot, pick Cutler after trading down in the 1st (because he wont be there in the middle of the 2nd rd). And then pick up the best available player with all the other picks. We need help in many areas but Qb seems the most need position.

The more we win the better position we'll be in to legitmately take Cutler. A solid combine and senior bowl will make him a mid-late 1st round pick. If not, we need to take the best DB available.
