What if we end up with the No. 1 pick next year?

ouch.dont know what to do but trade back a few spots pick up another first in 2014 and build ,build and build for the future.
only good thing would be this years reduced price for the sunday ticket $ 199.00 and im going to finally nuy playstation 3 .im not a big fan of xbox so i gave it to my little nephew whoses parents could not afford it for christmas.the look on his face when i gave it to him was priclessssssssssss.brought a slight tear to my eyes

I want us to succeed as much as anyone on here, but with a new headcoach, offenseive system, and possible rookie QB, we could be in for a long season ending with the worst record. Considering Barkley is gonna be the consensus number 1 pick for next year. hypothetically we could be faced with a very tough decision. If this were to happen, I know we could get a king's ransom for that pick and it would be huge in our rebuilding process....Just a thought

Whoa. WHOA!

I'm not even convinced that Barkley's going to be the top QB drafted next year; let alone the "consensus #1 pick." Let's let things play out a little.

How about for once you develop a QB before thinking about the next one.

Wait a second...........

You are saying that we should work with and develop the rookie QB we have instead of spending time thinking about a "fantasy" which not only would have us going 1-15 this season but also using that "1st pick" on another Rookie QB before we have played this one.

Hmmmmm............

Staying with this "theory" I'm thinking that maybe you are also saying that we should think about, spend our time on and even try to win as many of our games as we can this season. Opposed to just giving up, assume that we are going to lose all our games and spend our time wondering WTF we will draft next year.

This sounds a little crazy but it does have it's merits. I'm going to throw caution to the wind Killerphins and go with you on this one.

:hump:

(on a related note, there is a QB going into his Senior year at Butt Funk High School in Texas that I want us to earmark our 2016 1st round pick for)

:tank:

I think you need to start keeping some of these "thoughts" of yours in your head box.

Trade it for as much as one can possibly get!

Several thoughts come to my mind with this thread.

A) It's unlikely we will finish 2012 as the worst team in the entire NFL.
When Dolphins' FO claimed "we aren't rebuilding" of course they were trying to sell tickets, creating the idea that this team can compete, but also they mean it. Such statement was based on the fact this team has strong foundation, as there's an excellent group of playmakers and this coaching staff won't allow other teams to overcoach them. So with a new offensive approach, new defensive schemes and potentially a new QB, there's a strong chance we could finish among top 10 picks of the 2013 draft, but it's complicated to get first overall.

B) Unless something strange happened in the time-space reality, we're in MAY and there are going to be several things to enjoy during 2012 games and worrying about 2013 is somehow useless before watching a single snap of this team.

C) If we are in position to pick Matt Barkley (could be with the top overall, or at any other spot in the top of the draft if teams like Colts or Redskins are on top) we should try to find a trade partner to add as many picks as possible or even select him and trade the young passer (Tannehill/Barkley) who lose during 2013 training camps.

Trade, Trade, Trade. More pick could mean more weapons for Tannehill.
