Granted, I know this isn't necessarily an immediate need position, nor am I implying that this player should be selected high in the draft.

However, with Williams nearing the end of his career, Ronnie Brown's long term future with the organization up in the air, plus his injury history being as is, I bring a name up for you of a hb who has good field vision, averages over 7 yards a carry for a major DI program, breaks tackles well and could be a featured back in the future.

The HB? LeGarrette Blount..

If he's available in the fourth, do you take a flier on him?

If the new labor agreement is reached and Brown's contract ends, and he refuses to resign, we are going to franchise tag him anyway, so we won't need to draft a RB at that point with all the depth we have.

4th round is where we look at guys like a Briscoe, Mike Williams, Aaron Hernandez, Micah Johnson, Dan William and possibly Jermaine Cunningham. Just a few names off the top of my head.

Sure, if we don't franchise Ronnie we may grab a RB, but if that happens we wouldn't wait to do it, we would go after a C.J Spiller or Jonathon Dwyer in the mid 2nd rounds, or even trade up to the early 2nd rounds to do so.

Considering he was the #1 RB in the nation at the start of the season I'd say definitely. But I'm sure a team will take a shot on him.

He wasn't the #1 RB in the nation to begin the season. He was a borderline 2nd rounder then.

I should say guys like C.J Spiller and Javhid Best take offense to those kind of statements.

Ya know, I think I would take him if the trifecta think his character issues can be resolved. Blount is one hell of a talent. Taking a sucker punch at somebodys face after a game is bad. He will fall, but his talent is still there. 4th round? Well that would depend on how bad his issues really are. 5th round? Would definitely take him, unless his issues were serious.

I like what Lex Hilliard has shown with the opportunities he's had and would prefer to see what he can do for the rest of the season before even thinking about drafting a RB.

As "ChadHenne" said earlier, I'd like to see us go after a guy like Briscoe from Kansas with a 3rd or 4th rounder.

since we're not talking about an immediate need, i really like Joique Bell as a RB. he's been tearing up Division II football for 4 years. he has 92 TDs in that span. he's more of a complete package. nice size at 5-11 and 224, good vision, very good hands. he didn't play against elite competition, so that might hurt his stock. we could probably get him in rd 7 or as UDFA.

Only thing I'd say here is that Miami has already drafted basically that exact same guy in the 6th round in 2008 in the form of Lex Hilliard....

I know a lot of people around here like Hilliard....but I don't see anything in him whatsoever that wouldn't be easy to upgrade on....

If I were going to draft a RB for Miami...it would be a guy with legitimate home run ability.....with rare speed, agility, and acceleration....that is also versatile.... an ultimate weapon in the passing game (splitting out at WR...mismatched on a LB, etc.)...that can also provide value on special teams in the form of kick returns, etc......that has proven himself for 4 years against BCS competition....

...basically C.J. Spiller...

I hope the franchise plans to resign Ronnie Brown but if they didn't I think Charles Scott of LSU, Jonathan Dwyer of Georgia Tech, and CJ Spiller of Clemson are all worth watching

if we have an uncapped year (likely) ronnie brown is our property anyways 1 more season so considering he's coming back from season ending surgery i don't think he'd have much trade value...

i think ronnie returns for at least 1 more season...but after that i can see him being let go...

hello mark ingram in 2011

Ronnie has always been my favorite Phin since he was drafted....as a Bama guy....I know what it was like to have to try to stop this guy when he and Caddy were at Auburn.....listening to the defensive players talk about how beat up they would be after being pounded by the duo...

I've always felt like keeping Ronnie was a priority....but I just don't know anymore.....and nothing would make me happier than seeing Mark Ingram tote the rock for Miami if they do decide to let him go after next year...

Not to mention...if Miami misses out on Dez Bryant....the 2011 class of WR's is going to be one of the best we've seen in many, many years IMO....especially at the top with A.J. Green...Julio Jones....Malcolm Williams....Randall Cobb....DeAndre Brown...Jonathan Baldwin...Michael Floyd...etc..

100% agree with the 2011 class having one of the best WR groups in quite some time. Julio Jones alone is the best WR prospect I have seen since Fitz romed at Pitt. That is a big reason why I want to draft Dez Bryant this year, and hope we can get a guy like A.J Green in the mid 1st round next year to have two of the best future NFL WR's for Henne to work with.

i don't plan on us picking in 2011 in the middle of the draft...we better make the playoffs next year...no reason we can't

aj green gets separation like few wrs in the college game still all things being equal if we did get a legit wr this year i want mark ingram in aqua and orange in 2011

If the 2011 draft class has the best WR groups in a long time, shouldn't it be obvious that instead of trying to reach for Dez Bryant we should stick with defense? I know WR is a great need but we can sit back in the 2011 draft because there are so many good receivers, and focus this draft on linebackers and NT.
