What if?

I would have to take Blackmon. Who's to say that Marshall will want to stay here. We have seen "Signs" of him wanting this team to improve right now and getting restless. If we draft blackmon then atleast we have someone who could evenutally step up to out #1. We have bush and possibly Thomas depending on how he develops. We could find a RB somewhere (FA, Later Rounds draft) that could share the load with someone. We need a #1 Wr whether thats Marshall or Blackmon or whoever. We NEED one.

See, no, this statement gets thrown around too much.

Great RBs are not easy to find. Serviceable ones are.

There was not one RB in the pro bowl this year that was drafted in the 1st round. It's easy to find RB in the draft. Miami has Reggie Bush and a young RB they drafted last year. There is no need to draft a RB in the 1st round especially in the top 10 and even the top 20.

If Blackmon falls you draft him. I think he is best WR prospect since Calvin Johnson. But if we decide not to draft him you could probably get a pretty big ransom in return for trading the pick. If Richardson is there trade back cause someone will be willing to deal for him. If Blackmon is there maybe the Bears trade up to get him. Take their #19,50 and 74 picks for our 1st and 5th round picks. Value chart is close value. Then we get 2 2nd and 3rds plus the 1st back. If they dont wanna deal Id find it hard to believe if the Texans wouldnt like to trade up to get Andre JOhnson some help.

Take off your "homey" glasses. D THOMAS was d**k last season. And BUSH didn't even finish 16 games. If MIAMI had made the Playoffs, we would have had d**k at HB.

What is there to explain? Running back is the easiest position to fill. You can find running backs in any round in the NFL draft.
This argument has no merit. People say the same thing about tackles, guards, wr etc, yet every team seems to find them bar Miami. If the BPA available is a RB at a pick in the top 10 or 20, then you would have to strongly consider taking that player.Last year we took Pouncey & although not a sexy pick, he was the bpa that suited a major need for miami. Anyone who passes on a probable starter for 8-10 years at any spot is mad.

I love Richardson, went to my High School where I played with Emmitt (Escambia) and broke a lot of Smith's records. He is a beast and will be a great back! However, we have Bush and it is a pass happy league. We have to many other needs! If we could trade down and pick up a good second and 5th and take him in the 20's....I would be all for it!

What a terrible way for a player to feel about his organization.

Well if this scenario does happen LET THE BIDDING WAR begin..Teams will be doing anything to jump to the 8 spot.

So would you take blackmon if he is still there or do you trade the pick.i dont think i would pass him up it would have to be a really good package sort of what atlanta gave cleveland last year for the #1 wr in the class

Did I say Thomas was good or did I say that we have a young running back that drafted last year. Reggie Bush was more than serviceable. I honestly can't believe that people here would want to take any running back in the top 10. I suppose this shows the intelligence level of the of the people on here.

I can see both sides here......you don't take the 17th best player on the board at 8.....having said that if they're both there it should be a no brainer, you take Blackmon as it is a passing NFL now.......Bush was very good last year, Thomas showed some flashes and we got the guy from the CFL that was a stud up there. He might turn out to be our next Wake?.......as far as a top WR, we need to give our QB(whoever that turns out to be)some weapons.....in the end, this is all academic as there's no way he'll still be there at 8.

Ozzy rules!!

he did have a bad combine.he just may slip, and with the way people are talking here richardson should not be touched untill later so you have to think other wise

Yes I do think it was a bad pick. What has he done for the Vikings?

You can't be serious? Just because they haven't been to a superbowl .. lots of players have extremely successful careers and are a massive part of any success their teams has without ever winning a superbowl. Dan Marino never won Miami a superbowl, does that mean you'd ask what he ever did for the fins?

In 5 seasons, Peterson has rushed well over a thousand yards in all of them but the one just gone (he would have gone over if he didn't go down injured) and has gained a total of 6,752 yards. Has scored 64 rushing touchdowns. 67 touchdowns including 3 receiving in 5 seasons. Has an average of almost 100 yards a game. Minnesota has won the NFC North twice in his five seasons, A.D. was an integral part of their offense both times.

and then there are all the records he has broken ...
