Id bet a fair amount that this happens. But I think Miami fans underestimate how often this happens across the league. Coaches tend to hire guys they've worked with previously. You see it with potential HC hires...one of the questions is what kind of staff can they put together. That goes back to who've you've worked with\ mutual familiarity. Not saying it's right, but I think it common.

Actually if it came down to it I prefer VJ over Burke
Very few Head Coaches go back to coordinator.

VJ had way less talent that Burke does and produced a better defense.
