Hey Everyone ... Just wanted to start off by saying that I have been visiting this board for quite a while now and have just been waiting for the right time to post my first thread (what better time than draft day). I know you all are pretty sick by now of Ricky threads but this one is in a completely different direction than any that i have seen up to this point so here it goes:

What if ... Ricky Williams caps off another explosive offseason for the Miami Dolphins in the summer of 2004 and they look primed to make a Super Bowl run with Dave Wannstedt as their head coach. Miami starts off the regular season 3-1 (don't wanna get too ****y) and then suddenly Ricky goes down with a season ending injury, let's just say it comes out to be a broken arm or something that won't effect his running abilities. All of a sudden the Miami offense begins to crumble and owner Wayne Huizenga realizes that Dave is a horrible coach without his stud running back and decides to release him mid-way through the season and have his defensive coordinator Jim Bates take over as coach for the remainder of the seaon that Miami records a 4-12 record (the second worst in the league). Over the offseason Wayne knabs Nick Saban to coach Miami and everything turns out exactly how it did up until this point with the exception of Ricky Williams coming back from his season ending injury at 100% ready to play in 2005 under Nick Saban.

So, what this all boils down to is what do you guys think Nick would have done with the #2 overall pick if this was the scenario? I personally believe that he would have looked more into a trade with Washington for both of their firsts and a later round draft pick. But who would they take?

Sorry guys, gotta head to work for a few hours but i hope to see some good responses when i come back. :)

Good post man.

I think Saban would exercise every alternative...obviously Washington being one, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Cleveland...if we weren't going RB, I don't think there would have been a huge desire for Braylon Edwards.

With the free-fall of Aaron Rodgers, we could have traded perhaps mid-round, picked up another 1st next year and some mid-rounders this year.

That's it, one post?? lol ... I know it must be because of all the draft hype right now. I'll bump this again later on to see if I can get some more feedback from you guys

ok ... now that alot of the draft hype is over with for the time being, anyone have any opinions on this ... i'm really interested in what you all think
