Release a guy who, after no TC first team snaps, and thrown into the fire, once he got his sealegs under him did as well as Matt Ryan the last 9 games, except beating teams with a combined .439 record vs Ryan, with plenty of resoures, w/o Columbo or Marshall's end zone drops beating teams having an impressive .302 cumulative record during that span. (Ryan did beat 1 winning team during that period, TN but only because of that fluky last game last minute ending vs Houston) and both of them lost 3 games to teams that were .500 or better).
I use Ryan as an example since, despite his choker gene when it counts most in instant death, going back to BC, in curious fashion, he still seems to be near and dear to many hearts around here. Oh did I mention that although Moore lost to the Giants, 20-19, going 19-32, 1TD and 288yds, he wasn't offensively shut out by them like Matty Ice was playoff game 1 going 24-41 for 199yds and no TDs.??
Now to answer the OP's question, Moore needs to cut down on his 14 fumbles, although he lost only 1 more than 3 premier QBS resulting in turnovers, the same as Flacco and less than Bradford and Sanchez. He needs to work on that personally but making sure Columbo is in a different zipcode and our line is shored up and not so porous would be a first step. We need to replace Marshall obviously, but hopefully with someone who's nearly as dynamic and a big target but won't drop his passes in the end zone. That's for starters.
Philbin is an instant upgrade if he can make our offense work at least a little bit like green bays O, but we shall see about that.
Definitely RT needed, and of course we need to draft WR's and make Charles Clay work, or draft a TE.
And i think something he will need is the support of the fans, which will come only if we win first games..
We need improved play from the RT and RG positions. Improved play from the TE position and a legit #1 WR. All that, plus a full offseason where he is designated the starter in camp and given MOST of the snaps and I think Miami will have done everything it could (with Ireland in charge) to help Moore succeed.
WR, TE and RT. if we can get playmakers in those positions the offense can improve by 3-4 points a game and get 3-4 more wins this season. Obviously a franchise QB gets you and extra win or two and that will make you a contender. Sure up the secondary to cover a TE down the middle and well I can dream.
