i wanted to put this in the spygate thread but that thread was getting really long so I want bring up a AL Davis like approach. IF other teams plus our fins which includes the Bills ,Jets , the Steelers , the Bengals and Dolphins were being filmed ;then why cant these teams sue the nfl and go after Goodell bigtime ? if nothing is done the afc east should boycott the nfl and Wanye H should be raising hell for he is man of integrity.
This is my reasons for relaaignment in the afc conferrence . the change would do us good.
IF IT WAS UP TO ME I WOULD SUSPEND THE PATRIOTS TEAM FOR 2 YEARS AND / OR REALIGN THE AFC CONFERRENCE TO PUT A MONKEY WRENCH INTO THE PATRIOTS PLANS.

2 years???? That's a bit much. Realignment of the AFC East is not going to happen.
Suspension? More likely to happen. Fines? Absolutely.

Well the Rams and some former Rams players have been the only ones to posture a law suit against the NFL and the Pats... now that we now know that the Pats taped us too I would hope that Wayne does something, and I hope that the Bills does something as well.

The League needs to punish the Patriots so severe that no one will ever think of doing this again. If I was the NFL Commish I would put the Patriots on the "death sentence" - i.e. they can only play away games for one season, and can not draft a player for 5 years, plus there cap should be cut in half.

Basically take a NCAA approach to a big league problem.

About realignment, I support moving Miami to the AFC South and moving Indy to the AFC North.
 
sue the NFL? the NFL business is structured as an agency. It's not an actual entity. ergo it doesn't file a tax return. It's a agency on behalf of its members, or franchises, or teams.

They'd be suing themselves.

Further, suspending the Patriots from playing for 2 years? Can you please share some of what you have there???? pretty please...

fines, fines, and more fines. draft picks draft picks draft picks. maybe supsend those personnel responsible.

sorry to get all serious, I'll go back to the lounge. But I do work with the Miami Dolphins, the NFL, and Covington & Burling. Google me, baby.

The fact that rest of the league isn't dwelling on it tells you that the media has made it a bigger deal than it is. Have you heard one player stand up and say anything about it?
 
There should some legal recourse by the teams that were taped, I just dont against whom.

I do think that the NFL should punish NE again and this time more severly.

There is no telling how other teams would have done w/o NE cheating as they did.
Instead NE got to build a cash cow during that time while other teams (esp the AFC EAST) had to play 2nd fiddle to NE all of those years.
 
Wow. Just a little overboard there...They aren't going to realign the entire AFC because of the Pats. I agree there should be more punishment - especially since the Pats ended up w/ a first round pick this year anyway, and I would love to see them be prohibited from the Playoffs.

But it ain't gonna happen. That's alot of lost revenue - and that's the bottom line.

Maybe they should be forced to send Wes Welker back to us to comensate. What d'ya think?:)
 
As much as I hate the Patriots, the two year ban is way too harsh. Punishment should come in the form of fines, suspensions, and loss of draft picks. Robert Kraft needs to be hit hard in the wallet, take away as much as you legally can. Belichick should be suspended for the first eight games of the 2009 season, and the teams that the Patriots spied on should receive one or more of their draft picks in the 2009 NFL Draft.

How you divy up the picks I'm still trying to figure out. But, I think that's more than appropriate punishment for what the Patriots have done.
 
they should make Kraft and Bellicheck have to play left and right tackle and protect Brady. Who should have to play in the nude. Lappy axed me to include that last part.

He's a HUGE Michigan fan. HUGE!
 
Switch Patriots with the Falcons. There are eastern US. Besides... someone from the NFC South must be in the playoffs, may as well be a deserving team. You don't need to film the Panthers, Bucs and Saints. And the Falcons I think we can actually beat lol.

I think the players union would be up in arms if the NFL suspended the team (players) for 2 years because where would the players go.. I dont know about realignment either although I definately share your frustration 100%..

I would love for the owners to get involved because all the cheating definately took revenues out of the other owners pockets and into Krafts pockets and they could appreciate that.

realistically at the very minimum they should be:

1)stripped of every title they own from that time period (division, conference, and superbowl)
2)Bellicheat (and every other person involved should be fired and banned from the NFL
3)every pick they own in next years draft should be taken away.
4)Kraft, or the team, should be HEAVILY fined... And by heavily I dont mean 750K... A few million

I am a reasonable person and I do not think this is being unreasonable.
 
Something more should definitely be done. What they did last year was just a slap on the wrist basically. 7+ years of cheating and they lose a first round pick and a petty fine? The #31 pick, no less.....so it's wasn't like it was a really high pick.

Some people may think that it wasn't a huge deal. seriously though.....how many games were compromised due to them cheating? Over 7 years, 16 games per year, that's 112 possible games not including playoffs. I'm not saying they taped in all of them, but I'm sure they taped a good portion of them.

You can't threaten a kid not to steal several times and then just tell them it was a no-no when they do it. You punish them so they don't do it again.

Hell....if it's only going to cost the Dolphins 1 first round pick.....we might as well cheat and win a Super Bowl. That seems like a good trade off.....loss 1 pick for a Super Bowl win? I'm in.........

teams share TV revenue, and ticket revenue. Only thing they don't share is suite revenue, signage and parking. Even NFL Ventures (merchandising) is shared 1/32.

even from that standpoint they would have lost a ton money from their suite revenues because of money they could have made from selling those suits for potential playoff games that the ratriots robbed them of. Im sure they arent cheap
