I know his career with Miami is over but I'm just curious as to what his plans are and how he is doing. I really enjoyed his time here and attribute a lot of our turn around to him on/off the field.

Is he going to play again? Is he going to TV/Coaching?

how do you figure that you KNOW his career is over with Miami? I would actually bet on him being re-signed to be Henne's backup after Pat White's showing us he is a project at QB.

Exactly as a matter of fact I think he WILL be our back up next season. Did anyone see Pat White play this year? With the exception of that 2 popint conversion in Tennesse HORRIBLE/CLUELESS/TOTALLY UNDERSIZED ring a bell?

If I had to bet on it.... I dont think he will play due to the limitations with his arm and teams possibly lowballing him financially. I think the Phins will try to gracefully say thanks but no thanks. UNLESS somehow he miraculously shows that he hasnt lost any zip from what he had before. Then....they may give him a shot at being a backup.

my personal opinion

he said if the team wants him back he would accept being Henne's back-up.. This would be an ideal scenario..

yes it would be!!!! his calming influence and leadership was greatly missed! especially during the last few games. man i hope henne pans out!

I wouldnt mind Chad P as the backup to Henne. Pennington will only make Henne better.

The thing about Chad Pennington is his personality. Hes just a great person. Alot of guys in the league wont go out of their way to help someone who could potentially take their job from them and Pennington went all out to help Henne and make Henne notes and coach him the way Pennington has. The guy really is something else when you look at it like that. I think one day he would make a good coach but i wouldnt mind seeing him as a backup in Miami in the near future.

Realistically tho...Chad P is a competitor and i think if hes offered a job somewhere that hes got an actual shot at a starting job he would take it. The only thing i see holding teams back from signing him would be the limitations on his arm and the fact that he gets injured frequently. There are some teams with poor QB play that might want a veteran guy like Pennington in there so its not completely out of the question that he could start again in the NFL.

Pennington is nothing but a class act. In an ideal world, we could get him to agree to re-sign as a backup, keep Thigpen around as a solid #3, and QB would be our deepest position (TWSS). But this isn't an ideal world and Pennington probably still wants a starting gig which he won't get here. But Thigpen is still a solid backup.

White is a project period. He will not make it as a QB.

how can pennington expect a starting role coming off a season ending injury

im sure he doesnt expect a starting role but would go to a team where theres actually an "open" fair competition for the job.
