Thats what we had to deal with over the last few seasons. And now, when we get a top five quarterback in the league, we *****. Someone made a great comment, who would you rather have, Pennington or McGahee? Im more worried about Brees' arm strength, which was average to begin with, than DCs knee issues. Daunte has one of the best arms in this game, and our receiving corp will benefit from that. We ******* about not being able to get the ball downfield, and we would of continued to do so if Bress was signed. We got the man that wanted to be a Dolphin, one who is willing to rework his deal, and one that will help out salary cap situation.

People always come out of the woodwork to complain whenever something happens. No matter who we got they would be complaining. Thats just life. Not only is it annoying, but it slows the server down big time for the people who are always here.

Ok I am not complaining we got Duante. We needed to upgrade at QB despiratley and we did that. Duante has a load of talent and he wanted to be here. So did Brees, but money was more important. I applaud Saban for not giving into Brees' demand for a bigger contract. However, Culpepper got hurt on Oct 30 last year and his injury is said to take 12 months to recover. I know its said he is ahead of schedule on his recovery but I doubt he is three months ahead in order to report in time for some of training camp. This is why I have concerns about getting a QB that may miss a part of next season.

You have a proven QB coming into a new team with great playmakers. This will make his approach to the Phins very positive. I felt more comfortable with Brees because I thought he was more leadership/character. Nobody's perfect, and Daunte wasn't even proven guilty with the whole boat thing, but it wasn't a good choice for him to be there.

Many posters are immature and ignorant, so you'll see some blatant hate towards Culpepper. Fact is, he's the best QB we have had since Marino.

Can we pleeeeease spell our new Qb's name right. Its Daunte! Its the Feely/Feeley thing all over again!! Im a happy Fin Fan tonight guys. Been waiting 3 days now to see who we got. Im happy.

Amen to that one brotha!

The problem is with the QB its with the injury and the fact that he might not even take a snap this year. That is my biggest problem with the whole ordeal. Not to mention the fact that everytime he gets hit we are all going to be holding our breath that he doesn't go down with the same injury for the season.

If we were getting Culpepper minus the blown out knee there would be a lot more people excited about the pickup.

While he is a good QB with a heck of an arm and the ablility to make some good plays, he is a liability with the knee. This could turn out to be one of the best or one of the worst FA pickups in recent Fins history.

Please dont give me this Dan couldnt ever run crap. People that write that need to realize that Dan NEVER could run. That is what makes Culpeppers game what it is, his ability to break a tackle and get out of the pocket to make that deep pass.

Just a few points:

Marino did just fine with "gimpy" knees and ankle. His real problems started ehen he lost arm strength.

The deal depends on him passing his physical.

The draft choice we gave up might be 2nd in 2007 according to some sources.

He is familiar with our offensive system.

Overall I think he is a better fit. Very good job by our front office/coaching staff.

If, and that's a big if at the moment, his knee turns out to be ok, fine. If not, Saban's just wasted a lot of time and maybe a draft pick and Daunte doesn't help the 'Phins at all, with the salary cap or otherwise.

Guys even if we had gotten Brees the question mark of the injury would still be there. Just be glad we got a quarterback of the FUTURE and don't worry about the injury because Culpepper can recover its just a question of when and if it is 5 weeks into the season, I will still be happy!
