What is going on with Chris Clemons??!!!!

We have a 2nd round pick signed (Sean Smith), our 3rd rounder signed (Patrick Turner), and our 4th rounder signed (Brian Hartline) and yet our 5th rounder has NOT signed yet?? This is really stupid. His agent must be an idiot or something.

I'm going to agree with you here. Usually, the later round picks are the first to sign. I too am wondering wtf the problem is?

There was a rumour on the net (profootballtalk I think) that the Phins were delaying the deal to teach his agent a lesson. The agent announced several weeks ago that the signing was imminent. Parcells and co. like to do business privately, not through the press.

Crazy thing is, his Clemson Safety team-mate Michael Hamlin, who was picked just after Clemons, is also yet to sign with the Dallas Cowboys.

However Buffalo's 5th round Safety Nic Harris signed a 4 year $1.941 million contract with a $191,000 signing bonus. I'd expect Clemons contract to be somewhere in this region also and hopefully he will be signed by early next week.

Until these guys are under contract, what do they get paid? I mean, they obviously aren't out there running around on the field for free. What does an unsigned player make before they get an official contract?

But seriously. This is a forum where people speculate, discuss, complain, ect. Its the offseason, not a lot is going on. Dude was just bringing up a topic to discuss no need to attack him. My suggestion is you take a piece of your own advise....Chill out.

Typically there agent will front them a portion of what they believe there worth fronting until a contract gets hammered out. Or in some cases they just live on what there family can give them until a contract is done. But players don't have to pay for much while they wait anyway. Travel, food, etc... are paid for by the team that drafted them.

The only problem with that is that he is calling the agent an idiot because he is not in camp yet. No one knows what is going on. And honestly does anyone really think he wont report to camp? If so that makes me worry a little bit more about the Dolphins fan base's mental health than Clemons not being signed yet.

Nic Harris is also most likely playing OLB for Buffalo, although I don't know if that would have any bearing on it.
