What is more important to a NFL team, a QB or a RB?

Is a QB or RB more important

Part of this goes back to the Matt Flynn debate. If our new head coach (who knows this QB pretty well) thought that he could be the man, our franchise QB, then why didn't our front office (Jeff Ireland) offer him at least 75% of what our running back R Bush is making?

In other words, if Matt Flynn turns out to be much better then Matt Moore as a WCO QB, who would you rather have as a Dolphin? Matt Flynn or Reggie Bush?

What is more important to a modern NFL team, a QB or a running back?

If you picked QB then riddle me this:

Why are we paying RB R Bush more then both our QBs combined?

I don't have to read any of the other posts to know you're going to take it on the chin for this question....

You win OP. This is officially the stupidest thread this year, maybe even forever. Reggie Bush has more talent in his nose hair then all three of our currently signed qb's. Thats why he makes more. And you know why our qb's don't bring in the big bucks? Wait for it....... BECAUSE THEY ****ING SUCK!

No, Reggie Bush makes more because that is what we had to pay to sign him. Depending on how you look at it, Bush is the 7th to 13th best paid RB in the NFL. He has the 11th most yards of any running back. He was 2nd in running backs in the 6th year of their career.

By all accounts he had the best season of his career with far away the most carries that he has ever had.

If I played fantasy football and the fact that he is going into this 7th season did not count I'd look at him as a member of my fantasy team.

Maybe All of R bush's injuries problem are behind him. Maybe at 6'0" and 203 pounds he will have a even better season this year. But frankly, the odds are against him. Look at the running backs when they hit their 7th season and 8th seasons.

What has to jump out at you is the decreased production. You see players like Brandon Jacobs, Marion Barber, Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown in the top 10. You also see QBs now becoming top 10 rushers.

Does anyone really believe that R Bush is going to have anything like the season he did last year?

Not 100% sure where you are going with this post, but if you are trying to say Bush is overpaid, then I totally agree. I also agree that there is very little chance that he will have the production that he had last year. And I will even go far as to say that Moore should be making more than Bush. But then again I am not a Bush fan. I thought he was the most overated player the year he got drafted and couldn't believe people were calling the Texans stupid for going with Mario instead of Bush. Bush has had one decent year, and I don't think he can repeat it. The day he became a dolphin I felt exactly the same way I felt when we drafted Tedd Ginn, which is sick to my stomach. But all of that aside, the orignal post was comparing QBs to RBs. And there is no comparison. RBs have less to do with the longterm success of a NFL team than just about any positon on offense.

Because the Fins planned on re-signing Henne to a fat starter's salary in 2011 or early 2012, but he crashed and burned, literally, so the Fins lucked out.

Cheer up, Mike, it could be worse... instead of Moore and Garrard, the Fins could have Sanchez and Tebow!:crazy::crazy:

If it's any consolation, I think CJ Spiller makes a lot more than Freddie Jackson on the Bills.

QB no question!

Edited: I accidently voted for RB...oops!

A QB is 5 times as important as a RB...maybe more....even on a team like Minnesota with Adrian Peterson, the QB touches the ball every play and if he sucks it doesn't matter what AP does out there, you usually are going to get beat. A guy's salary doesn't mean he is more important to a team. A person's salary often has to do with how many years he has been in the NFL...older stars get paid more than young guys in most cases.

LOOL,i thought it was obvious that someone mistakenly voted for that, or it was someone who wanted to be funny voting that lol. Ask Adrian Peterson or Ladanian Tomlinson what's more important.

QB Colts last year = Prime example of what a great QB does for a team.

And as for your question...Because Bush is more talented than both our QB's combined
(Be epic if Moore proves me wrong though :O )

Because our GM is about as smart managing our salary cap as Forrest Gump.

How did Ross/Ireland ever think Miami was in the Manning sweepstakes?

I know some fans think Miami didn't offer Flynn starter money b/c Philbin didn't think Flynn was starter material...blah, blah, blah...

But reality is Miami had to trade away B. Marshall and Bell in order to get Miami at $6 million under the cap right now. Whereas Seattle is still $18 million under the cap after signing Flynn.

Ireland's plan = don't overspend on a QB or pay his actual worth, but overspend a million here two-million there on OL, DB, RB...by the time Miami overspent multiple times on fringe players there is no more money to spend on a quality QB.
