Because the Fins planned on re-signing Henne to a fat starter's salary in 2011 or early 2012, but he crashed and burned, literally, so the Fins lucked out.

Cheer up, Mike, it could be worse... instead of Moore and Garrard, the Fins could have Sanchez and Tebow!:crazy::crazy:

If it's any consolation, I think CJ Spiller makes a lot more than Freddie Jackson on the Bills.

Don't start me with my lust for Tim Tebow...I even still live in Gainesville.

good thread... laughed my ass off... still laughing... would read again...

50-1 on the poll, and the 1 was an accident.... LMFAO!!!!!

Not 100% sure where you are going with this post, but if you are trying to say Bush is overpaid, then I totally agree. I also agree that there is very little chance that he will have the production that he had last year. And I will even go far as to say that Moore should be making more than Bush. But then again I am not a Bush fan. I thought he was the most overated player the year he got drafted and couldn't believe people were calling the Texans stupid for going with Mario instead of Bush. Bush has had one decent year, and I don't think he can repeat it. The day he became a dolphin I felt exactly the same way I felt when we drafted Tedd Ginn, which is sick to my stomach. But all of that aside, the orignal post was comparing QBs to RBs. And there is no comparison. RBs have less to do with the longterm success of a NFL team than just about any positon on offense.

You basically said again what I was saying. I think our trade was fine but I think we are paying him too much. I also think with his 7th season coming up he will have to be a Ironman to play near this good for another year.

Plus, to be honest, we are paying too many players too much although i know that some money we are paying out is "dead money" that counts against the cap. This is why we can't do anything in free agency, we have spent too much on poorly drafted players, on free agents that did not pan out and on traded for players.

Too many of our better and higher paid players came though trades and Free agency.

I'd trade R Bush and use the pick on a player that would cost a 1/10th as much.

QB most definitely I don't want to pick up another RB in the first round again, look what happened to Ronnie Brown, they're a dime a doZen.

If you have Walter PAyton, emmitt Smith or Larry Czonka then RB.

If you have Greise or MArino then QB.

If you have both then Super Bowl is here.

What is more important to a modern NFL team, a QB or a running back?

If you picked QB then riddle me this:

Why are we paying RB R Bush more then both our QBs combined?

Because we haven't given Moore and Devlin their big pay days yet... Don't worry though, it's coming.

Should be Bronzed and hung on the wall.

The key is the GREAT ones are incalculable in value either way. Mediocrity at either position usually spells 6-10 seasons. We know about those.

But QB is a bigger need and harder to find.

Qb is the most important position. A good RB can help you win games, and good QB can help you win championships.

but he crashed and burned, literally, so the Fins lucked out

He literally crashed and burned? Do you even know what this means? Because Im pretty sure Chad Henne never crashed anything and burned alive.

They will find the franchise QB when the team and the fans accepts the growing pains that comes with having one and letting him complete a whole year under center.

The real answer is a QB/RB combo like Pat White and Tebow

Didn't you know ?
