What is Ross thinking?

I agree with everyone who says that Ross is definite not a football guy and has zero knowledge of how to build a good staff under him football wise. Hiring Parcells was the beginning of the end. As long as Ireland is in charge, this team will continue to overpay busts in free agency, and continue to miss on draft day.

Ross didn't hire Parcells.

I mean if dolphin fans were so bad we would have historically bad attendence which is not the case.
During the wanny era we were averaging over 70000 fans

As ironic as it is it was also the last time we continuously played for a playoff spot. It is like a bad dream. The coach (Wannstedt) and the QB (Fiedler) who gets the biggest lashing from Dolphins fans was also the last coach/QB duo which put us into playoff position or had us play for a playoff spot - except their last year.

We really don't know. The move is credited to Wayne but Ross already purchased 50% of the team so I am sure he had some input.

No he hadn't, Wayne was still the 100% owner when Parcells was hired. Same for when Ireland and Sparano were hired.

Only Aponte and Philbin were new hires since Ross became involved in ownership.

You might be able to blame Ross for hiring Joe Philbin and keeping Jeff Ireland, but you can't say he doesn't care or doesn't spend to make the Dolphins better. He tried to get Jim Harbaugh which looks like it would have been a good decision. I think he is a good owner, yes he didn't know much about football but he is trying. I agree something is wrong with the team. I can't blame fans for not showing up. Something is wrong with the football decisions, GM, Coach.

Bengals are a perfect example of sticking with the system and Marvin Lewis. Patience pays off.
Marvin Lewis is 0-4 in the playoffs in 10 seasons. The Bengals have underachieved during his tenure.

not sure how any one can say he is a good or bad owner based on the evidence we have.
Huzienga spent plenty to make dolphins better also and always landed whomever he seemed to want so not sure how Ross could be considered better than him as an owner

good point. He is doing well now but he should have been fired a few years ago. If you keep any coach long enough odds are u may have some minor success

I think he was a good owner. He did everything he could. An owner can do only so much. Picking a new head coach, gm, and getting a good quarterback, looks like a matter of good fortune .

I am sorry but Ross needs to grow a set and get rid of Ireland and this entire coaching staff asap. They do not know how to manage the players and their ability. Case in point look at Marshall and Bush. They did not live up to their ability in Miami and look at them now. Both are doing great. There are probably another ten players right now we can all name doing great on other teams but they did not do well in Miami. I don't think they can afford to go on like this until the end of the year and make a change. I for one am sick of seeing this year after year. Philbin, Sherman and Ireland are not the right people for this team. Jon Gruden anyone? We need some fire and someone that can use these players like they should be being used.

Or a matter of tanking the season to get the #1 pick (Luck) the next year.
