After going 7-9 last year, I thought we had a chance to atleast go .500 if not better. This Board (including me) blasted Tom Jackson for not giving us a chance and got a big laugh at Chan Gailey saying the Bills are just as good as the Dolphins. There is a list of other reporters, comentators, and coaches that we blasted.

I see some on here saying they saw this coming. I saw really one person on here (can't remember the poster) who said we would win 5 games if we are lucky. They were right.

The worst thing is I think we have talent on this team, certainly a lot more than we did in 2007 and maybe 2008. I really think that we are being out coached. Brandon Marshall dropping TD's doesn't help but it is more than that. We seem to be in bad shape, we look tired late, and can't seem to make any adjustments. It was never even this bad under Pornstache the last 2 years.

A bunch of us saw this coming. It all looks nice in preseason but it means nothing till the real games are on. Daboll is what he was in Cleveland, which is why even a scrub like Delhomme that played under him won't come here.

Henne, is not a franchise quarterback. He shown flashes, especially on his debut against the Jets, even I was on his bandwagon, I thought we finally got the man. But then there was no progress after, just retrogression.

I didn't even think much of the season opener this year, everyone thought he played amazing. I thought he was okay. I had a feeling we would see the same as before, nothing he has done made me believe he had changed into a better football player.

Its funny because the "realist" and the "haters" were right but they weren't right for right reasons as to why we suck.

The defense was good and was going to hold up. Nope conditioning destroyed them....

Henne was actually one of our more consistent players but because we tried to get orton, he sucked.

Sparano sucked either way, but because we went after harbaugh, thats why he sucked.

Our biggest problem is lack of big plays as per the usual. If our bad players step up, our good player f'ed up. If our good players make a play, the bad ones are doing what they do. The right time for the wrong thing is what this season is about. Or even the right thing at the wrong time.

Brief Statement: Quite possibly the most deceiving preseason the NFL as a whole has seen in many, many years. The preseason was essentially an extended version of OTA's due to the lengthy lockout and after watching each preseason game twice, it's still very difficult to really predict how well our preseason translates to the regular season.
The defense should be a very bright spot for this team and they'll keep us in almost every single game, but at the end of the day, the NFL is all about the offense and I'm just not ready to purchase several shares of the Chad Henne stock. Chad showed serious promise in the preseason but he now has to be the one thing he's never been in his entire career: consistent. The schedule is very tough and I think many of us are looking past much improved teams (ie: Cleveland).

Lockout has severely hurt this defense and I believe it has hurt every defense this season. Offensive production is thru the roof all across the board. That's not a coincidence. I'm not as concerned about the defense as many here are.

And for what it's worth, I'm thinking I overshot our win total by about four games now.

I remember cursing at my television when Mike and Mike on espn said the Dolphins were going to be 4-12 or something like that. I said no way they drop from nearly .500 to pathetic. Wow I was wrong. The Dolphins have reached the point where they are almost unwatchable. I am starting to forget what it feels like root for a team that looks like professionals.

I think I predicted 6-10 before the season. I knew we would be bad, but a more mediocre type bad, not a complete awful worst team in the league type bad. Can't say I'm too mad about it. Because I would rather be the latter than the former, and draft Luck.

I was one of the one that believed we would be better. But I go into every season thinking that. So I don't know. Whatever at this point. I know I REALLY want to win next week because I don't feel like hearing the stupid Bronco fans.

Stang I proclaimed the Phins were closer to an 0-5 then the playoffs and was chastised for it. The writing was on the wall after the Harbaugh fiasco. I am surprised more fans didn't see it coming.

I predicted 2-14 then after the first 2 games 1-15. Defense had the same amount of time to prepare during the lockout as any other team...offense the same. We have good players however the culture of coaching is sad. What coach wouldn't try and put up points on the board with 1:40 left in the half knowing that they will get the ball in the second half?

I think I predicted 4 or 5 wins. I knew we'd implode. I saw the first two games on the schedule and said, "We're not winning those games, and when we don't win those games, we're going to quit on the coaching staff."

But we've been even worse than I thought we'd be.

This is why they can't see it. They're fans. Fans can't and won't see the truth.

For instance, there's obviously a lot of Dallas fans nationwide. I have about seven friends that I speak with regularly here. Not one of them can see that Tony Romo will never win them anything.

But I guarantee that the majority of people here can easily see it.

Said 4-6 wins I cautioned people our defense was very overrated, out oline blows, we lack playmakers, and our HC & GM are bumbling idiots! You can blame the short preseason all you want for the defense but I ain't buying it! One new player out of 11 and if this defense was really top 6 they would be laying would instead they are laying turds!

I'm not as concerned about the defense as many here are.

I agree with your basic premise that perhaps due to the lockout that offenses are still ahead of defenses in general. But this doesn't explain the 'phins defense continually (for years now) seemingly 'folding' and dare I say, 'quitting', game after game after game. Something apparently happens to this defense after halftime.

Maybe they're in the locker room drinking beer and watching porn...ala the Red Sox bullpen.

I think this is an extension of coaching. I always watch the second half more closely than the first half because I'm looking for which team went into the locker room, identified problems on both sides of the football, and made necessary adjustments for the second half.

I don't think Sparano and company know how to do this.
