What is sad is they were right

b/t vaark...you put pat devlin behind this oline in this offense right now and you'll ruin the kid...i wouldn't put any developmental qb period behind these guys in this offense right now...unless you want to get the kids head taken off and his confidence shattered

best thing we can do is keep sending out whatever retread veteran we can this year...nothing to gain by putting devlin out there before he's ready...or even close to ready

Well since everyone's crowing about their prescience, I'll admit to not see this coming at all.

However, even thinking we were in decent shape, I was one of the original "Say No to 3 and Out Orton" conscientious objectors, but was lectured that the mountain of criticisms I was sharing from the Broncos boards were irrelevant since our members a few thousand miles away were smarter then theirs! I don't know if this included anyone in this thread, but I can think of at least 2 so called "realists" who were pimping for us to sign Orton as being the missing piece (guess they were proven wrong on 2 fronts eh?).

Beyond that, never wanted Kolb, McNabb, or Vince Young. Less alone than on my Orton protest, but nevertheless, looking good on those too. I might have been wrong on Hasselbeck, but realistically the verdict's still TBD.

Let's just be honest here, we didn't love Orton even though we said we did. We just wanted anyone other than Henne. Orton had decent numbers so he became our hope, but in the end you were right and I was wrong. I wanted a reason to believe we had a shot this season, so even though we would have been as bad with Orton I let myself get delusional and think he could be the answer for this year.

i watched one game of ortons in 2010 tape the kc game can't recall if it was away or home though and he threw no less than 5 balls that should have been picked or were ill advised...not kidding...and i think that was like in a half...it confirmed for me what every game i had ever watched for orton told me...that 2 to 1 td to int ratio was garbage

he's not the answer...and i told people that til i was blue in the face...thank god we didn't trade for that scrub...or commit to him financially long term

I admit I thought Orton was the best of the bunch, and I thought he'd be an upgrade. Part of that was colored by how much I despised the other names being tossed around. But I never thought he'd be a savior with this coaching staff in place.

there was people on here begging that we trade a 2nd rounder for kyle orton...lmao...i was floored

of course the trade deadline hasn't passed so keep yo fingers crossed...

It's pretty sad that we're arguing about who's right, who's wrong, and who the real fans are/were about being 0-5. The past has been bleak, the present looks worse, and the immediate future shows nothing better. Hopefully our long term future includes a real coach (Cowher) and a real (QB)...the keys to 3D: Dolphins Decade-long Dynasty. :D

I still think there is too much talent to be 0-5, but when everyone is just going through the motions, it will be tough to win anything

Problem is the talent is in the wrong spot. We don't have ANY at QB and the coach is an idiot.

Recipe for complete disaster in this league.

Outside our punter and Wake who has become a 1 trick pony where is all this talent?

Seems like we've missing the two biggest puzzle pieces in this not-so-complicated puzzle for the last decade or so. I hope even Ross is not too stupid to realize what it'll take to change it before next season.

Even the run of the mill, non technical devoted fans are more astute than some pundits give them credit for. Instinctively they know what they know, whether able to analyze it or not. A lot can be gleaned by reading fan forums, including FH. What I usually do is strip out the top 10% glowingly supportive and bottom 10% bellyaching detractors and then look for a general consensus. On Orton it was easy to determine. The only board I review occasionally where homer vision goggles seem to be used excessively is TGG (even more so than JI) when it comes to Sanchez. :idk:
