What is the deal?
Miami has GREAT players and yet they seem to play like a preseason team every year. They can muster one good half every game. The problem is the second half of the game they do not show up as a team. That carries over to the second half of the SEASON.
Phins Great Players
1) Ricky Williams
2) Jason Taylor
3) Patrick Surtain
4) Chris Chambers
5) Zach Thomas
6) Sam Madison
7) OGun
8) Brock Marion
9) Sammy Knight
10) Junior Seau
11) Tim Bowens
If you look at the Phins roster and LEVEL of TALENT!!! You like anyone that knows the sport would make them the Paper Champions of the NFL. Teams with a much lower level of play seem to play better than the Phins.
So what is it?????
Is it the Coaches ~ Head, O, D, ST, QB......you get the point!
Is it the QB ~ Jay & Brian both have had subpar years. (But then again Trent Dilfer & Brad Johnson both have rings.)
Is it the OLINE ~ Rookies & Injuries just did not help a team that was trying to make the playoffs much less the Superbowl.
Is it the WR ~ C.C. just made some of the best catches that I have seen in a long time. But then just to drop a bunch of easy balls. Perhaps if he had some help other than a TE, he could have done better.
Is it the D ~ Sure they can not win every game for the Phins. But to often they gave up 21+ points. That should not happen with this much talent. Perhaps the system just sucks!
Is it the ST ~ Charile Rogers was gonna be the man. But then they cut him after his perfomance. Just to bring him back. Perhaps the blocking methods in use could not block a local high school team. Because Rogers, Simmons & Minor all have blazing speed.
Is it the K/P ~ Yeah O. Mare is not the same as years past. But then again he is human. The funny thing about kickers is once they are shaken they are sunk. Big contract did not help his cause. But then again he is still a Top 5. Perhaps that is not saying much about the Kickers in the league. Punters will always be on my short list. Teams are forced into punting so no matter how good he does I will still be pissed...lol
Is it the City ~ The Nightlife might be on of the nations best. So many things to do and such little time to do them in. The heat helps them early in the year. But when you go from warm to cold man it is hard to adjust....lol...just ask the BuCs...
Is it the Fans ~ Yeah every year the Phins are going to win it all. The Phins just drafted "Busted Up Old Man with One Leg" YEAH BABY they are going all the way....lol... With the roster that they do have I even thought YEAH BABY this one is for DAN.
Is it the EGO's ~ Yeah they have more talent on this team than ANY of the past phin teams. But that has a price with it. You guessed it EGO's. Sam & Pat fighting about a pro bowl berth during the season. With some many leaders who should you follow. If a team plays like a team they win. With or Without the Talent. Just ask the Pats & Ravens. Great Coaching can make any players gel to play like a team. The Phins have the Talent & the EGO's they just do not have a true leader.
The Point is this....................
THE PHINS ARE NOT A PLAYER AWAY FROM GOING ALL THEY WAY. THEY ALREADY HAVE THE PLAYERS. THEY HAVE MORE HOLES THAN THE BILLS & JETS.
Good Luck Next Season......
Start with the coach and rebuild from there.
