Based on this poll that was on here before

http://www.finheaven.com/showthread.php?365345-IF-you-had-to-choose-ONE-WR-WHO-would-it-be

It is obvious that most people on this forum would choose Amari Cooper, assuming of course that we are drafting a WR with our 1st pick. Well that poll got me thinking... If I worked for the FO and Cooper is my #1 can't miss prospect, how high would I draft him? Knowing that the higher I draft, the more I have to give away. Obviously I have other holes to fill as well. For this exercise I'm going to use the draft value chart to get as close as possible to even on what the compensation would be to move to a certain pick starting at Pick #3. I think moving all the way to #1 or 2 would be just way too unrealistic, and I think there is a .000001% chance of us moving up higher than #3.

Pick # 3 would cost us: 14 and 47 this year and our 1st and 2nd next year.

Pick # 13 would cost us: 14 and 114(4th round).

All the picks in between would range somewhere in between that. It's hard to really put a good package of picks together for each pick because the market for trading picks now is different than it was 3 years ago in my opinion.

All that being said...

What is the highest you would be willing to go, to get Amari Cooper???

Edit: Please also discuss where and how much you gave up for him. I think this will be interesting...

# 14 . I Love Cooper . But , I value the picks we would have to give up to go grab him and he's not Calvin Johnson either where it's a 100% thing.

Id stay put at 14 . We can grab a solid player there as much as we all love the idea of getting the best wr in the draft

Yeah I've been contemplating it for the past couple of months myself. Here is what I feel. I think him and White are amazing prospects. Either would make our offense much better and would solidify our receiving corps for years. If Cooper is "The guy" I would trade up to 9 or 10 value wise in my opinion. I don't want to give up our 2nd round pick or anything in rounds 1 and 2 next year either. That's the most I'd feel comfortable giving up myself. We'll see how things fall and who's available when in couple of weeks though.

Stay at #14. Should be a very good player available. Don't reach.

Those prices listed are way too much.

trade them Jordan and our pick surely a 3rd overall pick like Jordan could make this happen lol

It really depends on what I have to give up. If all it took was a 2nd rounder . . . I'd do it. The guy is a special player man.

Anything more than that (outside of a throw in 6/7 round pick) . . . is too rich.

If he gets to ATL and they say . . . "hey Miami, give us 47 and you can have him" . . . I'd make the move.

I don't think he gets past NYG tho, and thats a worst case scenario. Beckham Jr, Cooper and Cruz? Would be the best Wideout trio in the league and it wouldn't be close. Eli would get his mojo back instantly.

Can we just keep our 1 and 2 picks, then draft a #1 receiver next year when Joe takes us to 5-11? Just kidding(?) :idk:

I think Cooper is a great receiver and the most NFL ready since Julio Jones and AJ Green. if he falls past Chicago at #7 i would love to see us trade up with the Falcons or Giants to leap frog New Orleans, St. Louis, and Minnesota.

14th.....no need moving up for any WR, when there are tons of quality WR's out there.

Yeah but it's not a matter of just getting a quality wr. We need a stand out that is going to command attention. there's only so many of these guys. Cooper is the real deal

The only player worth trading up to 4 is Leonard Williams. No WR in this draft is worth what the Phins would have to give up to get into the top 5

Amari is a special player...It gonna cost some team a lot to get him.

There's only 1 player more valuable, IMO,then Cooper and that's Winston.

I just done know if we can afford to spend to get him after sending our 3rd round to Saints.

this year? Probably round 2

as much as id love a top wr.... corner, safety and linebacker are all an utter travesty

I'd give up our 1st, 2nd and maybe a 5th/6th. And then sign OG Evan Mathis in free agency.

Amari Cooper, Kenny Stills, Jarvis Landry, Jordan Cameron, Lamar Miller would give Tannehill tons of young explosive weapons to work with.
