What is the real reason Ricky wants to play in the CFL?

Do you think he wants to stay in shape and by playing in the CFL, it will keep him mentally and physically fit?

Do you think this will help him find suitable trade partners when he returns to the NFL?

Does he want to play in Canada because marijuana is legal in that country and he can smoke his hearts desire?

Inquiring minds want to know...what does he gain by playing up north?

I think he has already displayed his value as a player, this saga gets stranger by the minute.

I would hope so he could take care of his kids. Everything else is secondary IMO.

Sure I hope he stays in great football shape and come back to us the back he used to be. But Im hoping he, as a father, is playing to be able to take care of his responsibilties.

The principal reason is money. He needs to support his family.

Rickys Holistic medicine training frowns on pot smoking so I doubt he goes down that road again.

I am not too sold on the idea that it will help keep him in football shape. In fact I fear that the wear and tear on him will be detriment to his usefullness to the Dolphins.

The Dolphins had been reluctant to let Williams play in Canada due to the risk of injury, but are apparently relenting. Williams has three children and a fourth on the way and has reportedly earned $270,000 since December 2003, the Herald reported. He owes the Dolphins $8.6 million for breaching his contract when he retired in 2004.

"We want Ricky back on our team," Dolphins coach Nick Saban told the Herald earlier this month. "Ricky doesn't need to go to Canada to prove anything to us." But Saban also said the Dolphins would "give him the opportunity to do it if it's something that he needed to do or really wanted to do."

Keep in mind Canadian Football only has 3 downs so they don't typically run the ball all that much.I think Ricky does need to do this to stay in shape. If he didn't, a whole year away the game would put him that much closer to retirement in my opinion. I'm also sure he could use the paycheck he'll get up there.

And the defenders are generally smaller.I know the argument.

IMO a RB has only so many carries in his body. The risk of injury exceeds the benefits from staying in shape.

Ricky got back into shape relatively quickly after a one year retirement.

He can't smoke all he wants up there cause that would still be a violation of the NFL drug policy..

It's all about the Benjamin's.

How much can people beat a dead horse???

Ricky will do this for 1 reason, money. Some people could say it's to be in shape, etc etc etc...

It's all about the green...

Either way its good for Miami, he stays in shape and his mind is still on football.
