I cannot remember as good a running attack since the Dawn of the R&R Ronnie Ricky combo.
I went to the game and haven't watched the tape yet. From what I saw, the OL played very well BUT, it was against a pathetic DL for Dallas. I believe our 2nd team DL is better than their starters. That said, Shelly looked to fit in nicely, and believe he will help James on the run.
One thing I did see was when Tannehill was pressured from his right side by two defenders, it looked like they came unblocked, which was kinda true. James missed the snap, and was still in his stance when the defender went around him. Saw RT talking to him after the play.
Both tackles didn't move on the snap that play. Somebody ****ed up on the snap count.
Overpaid players tend to catch criticism quickly and for young high draft picks, they usually get a pass. I think it's because we really really just hope they are what we want them to be so we try to see it when it's not there, or exaggerate the good and make it into outstanding in our minds. I can't remember his name but another high pick on the roster often gets the same treatment from many. How was Landry outstanding? He had 2 catches. He also had a bad fumble on special teams. And how did Wallace under perform? He was easily the best WR for us out there. Tons of catches.
Feels like people get these blinders on that certain players (Wallace) can do no right and others like Landry can do no wrong. Re-watch the game, hell even look at the stats. Wallace had 6 catches for 67 yards. Most on short routes, which people say he can't run. Yes he missed a deep ball but Tannehill made a poor read.
Aside from that, I thought the O-line was a strong point in this game. Good protection. One or two mistakes that can be eliminated, but Im happy with the progress. James looks like a legit starter for sure.
