What do you think is wrong with Joey Harrington why he hasn't developed into a good QB. I thought he had a very good college career and he was highly touted coming into the pro's. Is it just that from playing in Detroit it shook his confidence so bad it's just beyond repair now, or is it just that he doesn't have a good enough "NFL" arm, or his decision making is just that bad, he's afraid to take a hit???

I don't know what it is to be honest, I think maybe he just doesn't have the arm to succesfully play in the NFL, I mean he can throw it far enough, but just not with any accuracy when it's over 10-15 yads. Anyway, what do you think, or do you still think he's not a lost cause yet?

Oh, and please don't just post something like......."his problem is he sucks" I'm not looking to get opinions on whether he's good or not, I just want to know what others think his problem is, and why he hasn't developed into a good NFL Caliber QB.

He can't seem to throw very well. Look at Yesterday, Lemon was getting first downs.

Smart guy, good arm, plenty of heart - and none of the 3 are wired into each other. Simply put, he just can't put everything together, never has, and likely never will. Good as a backup, horrible as a starter. See David Carr and Rex Grossman as prime examples.

I just think he's simply an average QB, nothing more....nothing less. I really think you can win in this league with him as your QB if he's surrounded by ALOT of talent. Unfortunately, he's much like Fiedler....a managable type QB that is always prone to the big mistake. Joey seems like a nice guy and he works hard so you can't help but to respect that.

But at the end of the day, I want a guy that we can count on every year to be our starting QB. We need to find a franchise type QB and I have no idea where we can get it (unless we find a gem in the draft).

No, he wasn't. Don't be blinded by the fact that he went in the first round. Most teams had him as a 3rd round pick on their draft boards. The reason he went as the #3 overall pick was due to Matt Millen being an idiot and asking other teams what they thought of Harrington. The teams talked him up because it meant a player they wanted would fall a spot.

Joey is being Joey. People here who've said that he's streaky, or just not starter material, have been ridiculed and bashed... but look where we're at now.

Ordinarily, I'd feel good about being proven right - except in this case, all of us as Dolphins fans lose :boohoo:

Hes more of a system QB. Hes good at executing pre-designed plays in the short passing game. But when everything breaks down and he has to make decisions on his own, he cant do it.

A better question is what is wrong with the Dolphins. One week they blow out the Pats....the next week they get blown out by the Bills.

It's a team effort.....the team wins....or loses.

:dolphins: I think we have a winner. :dolphins:

Joey has the arm/mentality for the short passing game.

However Saban (correctly) kept Scott Linehan vertical stretch offense intact specifically for DC.

Round Peg into Square Hole, but give credit to MM. Hes trying to call plays not to expose the weakness of Joeys' arm strength. Even if some of playcalling results in a WTF was that call?

Find a QB with brains and a cannon arm.....................

Joey Harrington's biggest problem is Joey Harrington. Perhaps the stress in Detroit flawed him forever, perhaps he never even had it to begin with but he obviously has the tools so it must be some deep-seeded psychological turmoil that ails him.

How did Brady look last week against us?

How many Super bowl rings does he have?

Sometimes the opposing team's DEFENSE has something to do with how an offense executes.

I'm not comparing Harrington to Brady as much as I'm comparing the Bills defense to ours. They have a strong, stout D.

Lemon looked better against a soft prevent D. Harrington looked horrible but the constant drops have to have some affect on his confidence. He tried to squeeze in a pass that he shouldn't have, but only after how many drops?

Our secondary played very poorly too. It looked like our guys were tired on the field...

#84 would look GREAT in another teams uniform, any other team...

how would joey look of HALF of the balls that have been DROPPED
and TIPPED by wr's and te's look right now?

joey has had his share of bonehead plays, but i think he has come
a ways since detroit [and i didnt want him here].

he rreally has had no help from his te and "star" wr.

plus, the rb's are mediocre at best.

plus the HORRIBLE coaching and bone head moves
by one nick saban.

it just ISNT all joey all though i know he will be this
years excuse, instead of the REAL problem, NICK SABAN!!

He'd look like a QB that can place the ball on the money instead of a foot behind or high or out in front.

By all means, lets start firing coaches after their second year. Nothing makes a job more attractive to potential candidates than knowing that they'll barely have time to fix the previous regimes mistakes before getting the ax. After all, look what its done for the Raiders! Don't we all want to be just like them?
