What Kind Of Coach Do You Want?

One that can work with Hickey and Lazor and will fire Coyle and Taylor.

One that is like Don Shula. As subtle as a punch in the mouth. I know he was a rare personality. Coaching he was awesome. We need to find a guy with that kind of Moxie.
Can breed a winner and have that passion and grit to be the best and actually make competent decisions.

Lets get this out of the way.

Billick is not returning to coaching, and you would have to be dumb to want him.
Cowher is not returning to coaching,.
Gruden is not returning to coaching.

No need for name calling brother, we're all phin fans here....I think Billick is underrated as a coach. I wanted him over Philbin. He knows how to win. He had a kick ass offense in Minnesota, even before the rule changes that opened up the passing game and he won it all in B-more with a crappy offense. Proven winner...don't want Gruden, he can't build a team and he is not the Q B guru he makes himself out to be...don't want Cowher, took him too long to get to the SB with Pitt and he stuck with sorry ass Kordell too long. Tired of unknown coaches (Philbin and Cam) tired of High profile guys (Saban, Parcells and JJ) that want all the credit for winning and will bolt if they are challenged. Billick is a proven tactician and being snubbed the past 8 years has probably stoked his fire a bit...

But shouldnt that be precisely the concern about Billick?
He was an offensive guru who failed to do anything with that offense.

The defense well here was your staff:
Defensive Coordinator: Marvin Lewis
Defensive Assistant: Mike Smith
Defensive Line Coach: Rex Ryan
Linebackers Coach: Jack del Rio

Um: Thats a defensive coaching all star team.
Billick had nothing to do with that defense.

That's a "chicken or the egg" argument, because those guys have not won anything without Billick either...Billick had chicken shat at QB and as a team they got it done. The real common denominator in all that though is Ozzie as GM.

I just think we need an experienced guy that is a proven winner, but without the huge ego that JJ, Saban and Parcells had...and that Gruden, Cowher and Harbaugh still have.

I still want Chucky

No specific preference outside of Harbaugh. The Auburn coach would be interesting. I wouldn't mind Mike Shula getting a shot, he helped develop Cam Newton. He has a lot of experience now and has done a solid job with the Caolina offense considering they have 20 broken runningbacks and are starting practice squad guys there
